Just a heads up guys, but last week we received a shipment of cams and install kits. We have the HPS and XTP cams, valve spring kits, cam phaser limiters, non MDS lifters, and valve spring install tools in stock and ready to ship. Check out the link below for pricing, and dont hesitate to ask if you have any questions regarding which cam is best for your application...

So with the full kit we'd be swapping our lifters and wouldn't have to deal with MDS any longer? Will Sean be able to tune out any codes that get flipped cause of that or does it not trip anything?

Also if we are already running HF tuning do we have to pay for the cam tune?

Hemifever will tune out the MDS, so you will not have any trouble codes from this. The non MDS lifters are not 100% required, but I do recommend them as the valvetrain can get noisy with a cam this size and stock lifters.

And Hemifever normally charges an extra $250 for cam tuning. We worked a deal with them to only charge $175 for the cam tuning for the guys that go with our cams...so yes, you would also need the extra cam tuning unless you are going to have it tuned locally by someone other than Hemifever.

Might have missed this in another post, but what TQ/HP gains are expected with the High Performance Street set up?

I don't like dyno's, so we test all our parts at the track instead. The 2 fastest 4 door 4th gen trucks are running the HPS cam. 1 is a crew cab 8sp that went 12.4 @ 110mph, and the other is a crew cab 6sp that went 12.6 @ 106mph. Both trucks picked up almost .3 and gained almost 3mph from the cam.

What do you charge for cam install? I'm not too far from your shop.

That's skating on thin ice, most of them hit limp mode at 6150 max 6200,just wondering as even the small cam says the powerband is above that rpm ceiling, and as it stands the limp mode feature can't be defeated yet in the trucks.

Hemifever has been able to somewhat work around that. We have a few trucks hitting 6250-6300 without going into limp mode. The HPS cam is in the fastest n/a 8sp, and he's doing it in a crew cab with a stock tq converter.

The only reason to shift higher than 6200 with this cam is for the 5/6sp guys who's shift recovery is lower at the start of the next gear. An 8sp with this cam, 3.92 gears, and a 6000-6100rpm shift point is a very powerful setup.

I'd like to hear more about how he's working around the limp mode feature.Mine at most will run to 6187 and that's if your lucky, most times it bangs the limiter at about 6150 sets a DTC code and the solonoids open and dump pressure and it goes to limp mode.

Give Hemifever a shout. He will set you up with a tune that will allow you to extend the shift a bit more than you are now.

No worries whether the truck is 2wd or 4wd as long as you have the gearing and converter to get into the power curve of the cam. 4.10 or 4.56 gears with a 3000+ stall tq converter if you have a 6sp, or 3.92 gears if you have an 8sp. With the extra weight of the 4wd, I would go with the HPS cam instead of the XTP.

I'm hoping to have the HPS cam installed within the next six months and if there is an available torque converter for the 8sp, that as well.
Currently have 4WD and 3.92's.
Once that's installed and I get it to the track I'll definitely post up some info. Probably do a build thread as I install the cam as well.
Can't wait!! Giddy with excitement.
