Thinking about buying and installing but had a question. Noise, is the throttle body a lot louder after install. I don't want it to sound like the ole qudrajets when you flipped the air breather lid upside down.

Oh, I remember them Thermoquads too!
You'd see that Rochester Quadrajet on a lot of GM engines as Rochester Products was a division of GM.
The Thermoquad was an invention of Carter Carburetor and was a favorite of the Chrysler group of cars. Interestingly enough, Carter also produced Quadrajets under license when Rochester production lagged in meeting GM demand. Interestingly, Carter produced the very first American 4-BBL carburetor for Buick's 1952 Straight 8 engine.
Ford was in the carburetor business as well, producing the Autolite branded units for their production lines. American Motors and Jeep also used them with some of their larger displacement V8 engines.
Of course, the hot rodders of the late 40's, 50's & 60's found ways to alter and use all kinds of brands on all kinds of engines thanks to the pioneering specialists of the era like Vic Edelbrock Sr.
I preferred Quadrajet carbs myself. Probably because several of the GM cars I owned over the years came with them including my '69 Oldsmobile 98 Holiday Coupe and 1971 Chevrolet NovaSS. I learned how to make 'em work.
Sorry for the ramble. I was just caught up in reliving some of those hot rod days of my youth.
yup had a 82 z28 305 with a quadrajet- jacked with my vacuum secondaries - mechanically linked them to the primaries and it made a huge difference.... my dad made me put it back to stock lolOh, I remember them Thermoquads too!
