I just noticed this yesterday, 2012 Laramie crew with the factory side steps. Some of the chrome plating is lifting on the step near the black plastic foot steps. Northeast so I know their is road salt etc, but I keep my truck clean and it's kept in a garage. Anyone else have this issue? Can anything be done to repair it? Covered under any corrosion warranty? I'll call the dealer Monday and maybe they'll surprise me. Thanks.

It would only be covered under the initial 3/36 bumper to bumper warranty. With a 2012, you are probably beyond that.

With chrome, once it peels, that is it. There is no repairing chrome peel. Only thing you can hope for is to maybe clear coat the affected area to minimize further corrosion but that is a band-aid at best.

I have a '12 and I see the same thing in little places on my side steps. But I plan to replace them with black ones anyway so it isn't bothering me much.

Thanks - didn't have a problem on the first three Rams, might try the clear coat to slow it down. Might have to trade it in now :)
