I am thinking about a cold air kit. I have decided between these 2. Which one would you choose?

If your in the state of California or California like emissions mopar is your only choice. Vararam won't pass a visual inspection.

I have a Volant intake with the lower scoop. But basically the same as the Mopar with the exception of the lower scoop.

TBH though.. I don't feel like going through the hassle of selling and everything but I would love the vararam or to try it out. It has track proven performance. It looks amazing under the hood. And doesn't make the engine louder (some people love it but I personally like quiet but powerful)

I saw a thread where the vararam is not good in bad winter regions? They said blizzard happened and the intake filter area filled up with tons of snow. Is that still the case with the design?

We get some bad blizzards out here and sometimes under the hood gets good amount of snow blown in. Id like this intake also or the s&b but the vararam looks awesome.

They're also bad if you live where it'll warm up fast and the roads turn into slush pits.I'm over here in Calgary where Chinooks are famous, had a buddy put one on his truck during a Chinook then roar out to show it off,by the time he got to my house, the thing had picked up enough slushy snow that the filter had sagged down and was letting all the road crap into his engine.Ended up I drove him home where he grabbed his stock filter box and we put it back on,on my driveway. If you live where you get snow,it wouldn't be a bad idea to hang onto your stock airbox box and put it back on for the winter months.

OP,
If you live somewhere where snow or water are concerns theses quite a few who have a water resistant/protective cover over their filter. It’s by a company called outerwears I believe.

I'm on Idaho and it's been fine with mine. Although Boise is a high desert and doesn't get a ton of snow usually but some each year
