Has anyone changed this shock? Do you have a shock number for a 2500 6.4l 4x4?

Do you suspect it's bad? I think the consensus is it doesn't do much of anything so maybe just remove it?

Anyway, this should be the part number for it...

I'm at 68K miles and looking at all that needs to be done around that mileage.
So far:
Shocks
Oil
Transmission Fluid
Differential Fluid
Power steering Fluid
Brake Fluid

I'm looking at:
Front steering stabilizer
Hop dampener

My understanding is that the Hop Damper helps to keep the rear wheels on the road after hitting a bump.

I wanted a part number to see the cost. I might replace it, it it isn't too costly. The original looks good. I do plan on keeping the truck for many more miles.

For what it’s worth, I don’t think it gets quite the same workout as the other shocks.
