I agree with everybody who talked about the pedal Commander.... I was a huge skeptic. I purchased mine right here on the Rams forum. Thanks Chris....
If you want to do something quick and get the biggest bang for your buck, this is it.
No it's not going to give you more horsepower but it will most definitely unleash what you already have!

Buy a sports car if you have the need for speed. I used to have a 5 speed 5.0 Mustang as a fun toy. Had years of fun with it until someone rammed into back of it while was parked on my street, totaling it. That was back in 2009 and finally in 2018 i couldn't take not having a toy so picked up a 1991 Corvette. Very fun to drive and although that year only had 245 hp with stock motor it has kick your ass low end torque.

From a standing start it will beat my RAM and even at a roiling start it would be hard to beat. Plus, it so much fun to drive and of course corners so much better. (And 4th generation Vettes are cheap)
+1
You have a gas truck.
You are racing stoplight to stoplight.
You are surprised that you lost to an oil burner that makes huge power just above idle.
Pick your battles son. Pick your battles.

Don’t waste your money in this pedal whatever thing. You get ZERO hp/tq out of it.
If the diesel took you out off the line chances are the truck had a tune. Some of them are easy to recognize because their raw power is usually followed by a cloud of black smoke.

One of the most effective ways to counter act that kind of power is FI and a tune. Magnuson advertises 120hp and 120ft/lbs at only 6psi with their TVS2300 SC.

You can also do cam, full exhaust, torque converter and a tune.

Or for less money you can always spray NOS. you should be able to a run 100 shot reliably with a good safe tune and it’s power on demand. Use only when needed.

You can also combine everything above. The sky is the limit :)

If you’re serious about power then you have to get serious about mods.

Keep your RAM for doing stuff and having fun. Buy the New Hellcat Truck coming out unless U want to invest a gazillion dollars in Mods and Parts, not counting labor unless U know how to install.

Better yet, go to the Dodge House and get U a Demon Hellcat.

Unless U dump so much $$$ into the RAM, U not gonna do it. U have a monster disadvantage on torque, the name of the game in Diesel. Besides, the RAM built for comfort and some work, not racing, just saying..........

BUT yer truck, yer $$$$$$$$$, and U do what works for U......

My farming cousins in Colorado have been injecting LP gas into their diesel pickups via a solenoid valve that can be switched on or off for years. The power boost is unreal. You can't know what the other guy has under the hood, Ford or not. 'Course they've grenaded a few engines too.

Check out cammed ram or incredible ram on YouTube. Not sure of actual name. He gives a full list of mods and is running low 12's in an NA Ram. Impressive

Did you punch it and spun? I know I can’t just stand on mine off the line and go anywhere it wil just spin all the way into 2nd and then stop spinning then downshift back down into 1st- it’s pretty violent with my anti slip rear end popping and sometimes some wheel hop too

It's definitely your gearing the Ford probably has a 4:11 rear. I have two new rams one is a 3: 92 anti slip I tow with, the other is the same truck but has a 3:21 gearing. Out of the hole the 3:92 Blows the doors off the other. P.S. they are both 8 speeds. Remember the higher the number the lower the rear.

My 2013 I pepped up by the following. I first helped it suck a little better by adding a S&B cold air intake. It helped a little for $299. Then after extensive research to find the best bottom end mid range muffler, I chose the Borla Pro XP (a lot of guys will disagree because they want louder, etc. I wanted torque and HP and dyno side by side comparison tests with 50 of the top brands don’t lie), muffler $120 install $180, magniflow Exhaust wye $32 install $200, electric radiator fan to delete the clutch version $111, and a Pedal Commander for $249 on sale. Not a lot of money, but I definitely notice the increased torque and HP, and my fuel mileage is just a tad better even driving aggressively. No tune as of yet, as I plan to install some smog legal shorty headers, got to appease the EPA nuts. Shorty pipes do produce more bottom end, long pipes more top end, so not to worried. The exhaust manifold on these are not so good and go bad anyway so why not short circuit the issues before it begins. Anyway, that’s what I did and it is definitely a lot funner to drive now. Good luck

I have the ram1500 classic 8’bed and having some vette experience with procharger Me and my friend who does the vette installed the 6 lb D1sch head unit, still have to get the trans unlocked to get the best numbers but 404 on a mustang Dyno made it into a 6600 lb rocket but I didn’t mess with the exhaust or lower end.

I think there's a bit more to it than that :D like the 7.3L IDI turbodiesel in 90's F250's made at most 388 lb-ft, which is less than the 410lb-ft a 2017 1500 Hemi makes. Kohler will sell you a diesel 13.4 cubic inch engine making 7.2 ft-lbs of torque.

It's like when people say electric motors make more torque than internal combustion... that's weird because I can totally stop an electric ceiling fan with my hand but if that fan was hooked up to an idling Hemi it'd take my hand off (and not only because of the rpm).
You have to think RPM also comparing a electric ceiling to a truck engine is silly
If you want to talk HP/ torque, look at the specs. on old John Deer or steam tractors.
