Anyone know if the 3.0L/6.2L MGU will work on a 5.7L if you move the computer that sits on top of the unit on the 5.7 to the 3.0/6.2 donor unit? 3.0/6.2L part number 68329852AE
Your avatar shows 2015, no MGU/E torque back than. What vehicle are you trying to transfer to? THAT part number shows Mopar OEM Alternator, not MGU.

Why not buy proper alternator: one of a few offered, instead of playing swap game. As far as electronics, outta my league, some one more inclined needs to chime in.

6.2's are Hellcat engines. I think you mean 6.4 which is used in the heavy duty trucks / Challengers -Chargers and some Jeeps

The MGU's have different mounting points for different engines, so not likely. Also, I think the MGU for the 3.0 is lighter duty, but not sure.

The part number is listed as compatible with: RAM 2020-2024 Engines: 3.0l v6 turbo diesel engine gen 3. 6.2l supercharged hemi v8 srt engine.

It doesn't look like it has the "computer" on top like the 5.7 does. Was wondering if that was the only difference. Different mounting points would be a big difference though .

Well u may wanna change yer Avatar info.

You say you have a 2021. Which model, trim level Is the truck E Torque equipped or straight VVT, as that missing info changes the internet guessnosis.

IMHO just go and buy the alternator made for the vehicle. Easy peasy.

But yer ride n wallet do as U see fit. Disregard part number I listed previous post since I went off yer Avatar info.

That's a mistake or misprint,as the 6.2's don't have the MGU unit, they have a belt driven supercharger on top of the engine, where a MGU would be bolted to

Well I have very lil knowledge on MGUs. There is a thread where bearing was going bad and forum member rebuilt the bearings. But also if U run unit too long with bad bearing u tear up the entire MGU.

I want a 2026 but since friggin E Torque not gonna happen. I will stick with my plain Jane 2019.

As far as swapping units argh. Somebody knows electronics needs Chime in.

Me personally I would replace with like MGU if that is yer problem but that is just me.

If he is looking for an MGU, I will venture that it is an ETotque. Trim level is irrelevant as to whether it is .
The eTorque system is available on most 2021 Ram 1500 trim levels, as it is standard on the 3.6L V6 engine and an option for the 5.7L V8 engine. This means you can find eTorque on models such as the Tradesman, Rebel, Laramie and Limited.
