I started with 13, now have 1400 miles, seeing mixed 15.6. I think I need a few thousand miles to see any improvement.

2500 6.4L Hemi 4.10's 'Off-Road'
Doesn't sound right. I'm not familiar with the etorque but my step-father has a 2017 Laramie Longhorn with 5.7 and 3.92s and gets around 16-17 in town. Heck, I'm getting 11.9 hand calculated with my 2018 2500 6.4 Hemi with 4.10's.
Not sure how to do it but here is a link to my fuelly.com > http://www.fuelly.com/car/ram/2500/2018/topcop38/917903IMG_5472.jpg

Saw a few who have linked it into their signature. I'd do that but don't know how. Mine are all hand calculated.

hmmmm....somehow it posted my boat pic and i can't get rid of it...lol

I'm averaging 18-19 realistically hwy and interstate.

Drops to 16 around town.

I quit using ethanol, improved 2 MPG .

My 2013 Longhorn with same setup, did fine on ethanol.

Charles 58, I have a 19 laramie with the hemi, e torque, and 3.21 gears. I have around 12,000 miles on it and I average 19 mpg (fuelly.com). At first it was around 15 but it improved after a few tanks. It is about 70% highway and 30% city on average.

I have a 2020 Laramie Longhorn 5.7 V8 e-torque. Been through 3 tanks of gas and all three are averaging around 13 MPG. I am not a happy camper. e torque is doing nothing, it appears. Anybody have any ideal how I can get better MPG. I am 69 and not heavy footed at all. And to survive financially, I need better gas milage.

Any suggestions out there. The Fords new engine (combination port and direct) is actually getting over 20 in city.

Truck needs to break in before you can gauge the fuel mileage. That said the Ford you reference is a small displacement V6, if you compare to the 5.0 they are not much different.

Just got back from a 600 mile round trip. Around 14700 on the odo. This is the first time my lie-o-meter got above 20. It peaked at 20.6 and was showing 20.5 when I shut it down in the garage. Give it time.

I have a 2018 Ram 1500 Big Horn with 4.88 gears now, it was 3.21s and I am averaging 14-15 overall and it's mostly in town driving ...

When I had the 3.21s I was getting just about the same actually .... it's really how you drive ... I might be able to get more close to 16 but I love how these 4.88s make this beast go .... it's very fun stepping on it now with the 4.88s lol ...

Sure seems hit and miss. Some report very low numbers and some are unbelievably high. A couple simple things that might help is to make sure your tires are at the correct air pressure, skip remote starting it to warm it up in the morning (excessive idling), turn off the AC in town and roll down the windows (do the opposite on the hwy), and probably the most important is be gentle with the skinny pedal (which I'm sure isn't easy with the hemi). I'm guessing it'll get a little better after it breaks, but it is a big ass truck with a big ass motor and FCA's mpg estimates are done under ideal conditions and they probably round up.

Couldn't agree with you more my friend .... it's definitely fun to drive and when I drive like "We Should" I get up in the 16s even 17s in town ....

5.7 no etorque
I had a 2015 Laramie 5.7 hemi 4x4 Crew Cab, short bed. 3.21 rear end. Air suspension.33" toyo a/t. Big gas tank. I traded it with 80k. It sucked in the city.
At 75mph on flat road i would calculate the average to be 21-23mpg.
Huge drop off at 80 where I'd get about 16-18. This truck did have a bed cover on it.

My new truck is a 2019 limited 5.7 non etorque. 4x4cc. 5'7" bed, 20" rims w/ stock tires, 3.21 rear end. Air suspension, 25k on the dial.
It actually does a little bit better in town. But it's barely worth noting. This truck struggles to get 20mpg when going 70. I use good fuel, mobile 1 oil.

Also, the cylinder deactivation seems to turn off under much lighter loads than my previous truck.

That sounds fantastic! I've been looking at the 4.56 gears from Moe's myself. How did you go about programming for your gears?
