I am currently running the Borla Pro XS. It has a nice tone, but it has what I call the glass pack popping sound; especially at moderated throttle and lower rpm. I much prefer a more steady tone across the board - if that makes sense. I have three chamber Flowmasters on my Impala which are perfect. But that's true dual exhaust. Not sure if the single muffler on the Ram would sound the same.
Thanks, Scott

Maybe look into Spintech or Flowmaster for a different tone. I’m surprised your getting a popping sound with the Borla. I had one for a while and don’t recall any popping.

I just put on a flow master Flow FX and being same straight through setup mine has that glass pack popping at 3/4 throttle to full throttle but not below. I wish it did not have it at all but it sounds good below that so for now I am going with it. not sure the straight through design is the cause though cause the day of my install had another ram hemi 5.7 in our shop with what appeared to be a 40 series flow master and it popped like hell above 3/8 throttle. and it was chambered still had both cats going into Y pipe then one muffler just as mine does

Should have been more specific. JBA longtubes, NO cats, Borla muffler and no resonators.

Installed a Carven progressive in my 1500 in February, man its sweet. 45 minute job without a lift or jack. Great tone at idle/causing , a tiny bit of drone but not noticeable if music is playing. No popping when you hammer it. Very, very satisfied.

Put stock exhaust manifolds and cats back on. That's going to be the nature of the beast running long tubes and no cats. Maybe if you ran a turbo style muffler or doubled up on mufflers. Chambered mufflers, especially the Flowmaster are going to drone like crazy and probably not going to fix the "popping" noise you're trying to get rid of.

Man, I'd love to see a pic of that install. Was trying to figure out how to run true duals, but the fuel tank seems to be the hindrance.

One last thing And I will leave it alone. My Setup however has had 0 Drone 0 to 80 mph TG that is the one thing I did not want and it succeeded there

I've never had popping noises running either a Flowmaster 50 American Thunder into OE pipes & resonators or now with no muffler, still resonators and 6" tips.
I wonder if having MDS turned off via tuner has something to do with it.

wooo LTs and no cats... LOUD- the stock sport exhaust (not the mopar) system would probably sound pretty good with LTs only

Shop took 2 seperate pipe runs after the cats...went into the muffler 2 in 2 out...ran down passenger side to the rear axle and then ran one straight back the other over the axle before the spate tire then around to the bumper....I took a video but do not have the savvy to upload...send me an email and I will try to send it to you if you [email protected]

Check out Gibson's Super Truck cat-back stainless system, that's what I have with the side exit and it has an amazing, deep, smooth rumble with zero droning or popping! About to add their log style header to match up with it, should even sound deeper then.

An update to mine that popping seems to be tapering off the more miles gets put on it. today I did not hear it once so maybe it just had to be broken in good and get oils burned out of it its sounding really mean now I like it. still no drone and in 6th gear tone barely there Yeah I could go on a trip and still carry on conversions and not have to readjust radio. Oh and mine still runs cats and manifolds

I ran that for couple years. Pretty boring, nothing to brag about. Cold winter starts we're nothing to be impressed by. But my boring might be perfect for someone else.
