Mufflex - 14" or 18" is the question

I know this has been debated at times or is that to death. I've decided the DOD24M is too quiet for my taste, so it's out of the running. I've tried finding videos, but finding them with MDS active from the interior has been difficult. When I had my G8 GT it had cylinder deactivation and the Magnaflow catback I had on the car made it sounds pretty crappy at times. I'll be pairing this with a Vararam intake and a BD or Trinity tune. My truck has 3.55 gears for reference.

So the question is, those who have the DOD14M or the DOD18M, what are your thoughts when MDS activates? I'm looking at also buying the drone suppression pipe from Mufflex, so no matter the choice I make I'll be installing that as well. That may make a difference but I'm not sure many people are running that add-on pipe yet.

Well I made up my own mind.

DOD14M 14" Magnaflow + DODJP Drone Suppression Pipe + Vararam Intake

I ordered the exhaust from BSM because shipping was about $25 less than Mufflex direct. Then I ordered the intake from Moe's and it already shipped less than an hour later. Impressive service from those guys.

Just FYI, you WILL still hear the MDS kick in. I can barely hear it with the 24". I actually like hearing it so I can try to keep it there as much as possible.

You still have your G8?

I figured I would hear the MDS and I guess if i don't like it then I'll swap to a different muffler or disable MDS.

I don't have the G8 GT any longer. I sold it to a member on the G8 forums a few years back. I miss that car - one of my all time favorites.

Yep... I'm keeping mine... My plan is to pull the motor and have some fun. Just need the time...

I have a crap ton of parts in the garage and more on their way from AU.

I have the Mufflex 14" and my resonators deleted, I barley hear any drone at all when the MDS kicks in...I had a 2010 GMC that the drone was pretty bad in. In my ram it just sounds different when it kicks in, but it's really barley noticeable, maybe it's just me...
