Multifunctional tailgate keeps locking up

I need help . Why does my tailgate randomly lock up? How can I open it up ?

If you mean it won't open the "normal" way, push in on it a little then trigger the lock. That takes the pressure off the release mechanism and it'll open. I have to do this with the bed cover on pretty much every time unless parked on an incline that works in my favor.
