I just traded a '12 for a '14 sport CCSB because I didn't get the options I wanted on the first go around. This worked out because some options weren't available in 2012 and this truck is so much more refined. In order of importance to me:

- Sport performance hood - I love how these look and its stupid expensive after market (with paint match, etc)
- 3.92 gears - first truck had 3.55s and I found out how hard it was going to be to switch them. Would like to have 4.10s, but I can live with this.
- Backup camera - this is standard now on certain trims, but so helpful with these trucks
- Power folding mirrors - again standard now on some, but great to have
- Ventilated seats - Better than heated seats in the winter

Thats good to know. So the truck knows to turn on the heated steering wheel because it senses the outside temp, or do you have to set it up?

On a side note, my wife was telling me she's looking forward to using the park sense cause she hated parking my other Ram. LOL! But it was lifted, so it was a bit more difficult... but not much.:naughty:

You can turn the feature on or off in one of the menus but the temp settings are preset. The cooled seats come on if it is above 80F and the heated stuff comes on if the temp is below 40F.

I have a 12 Ram 1500 Laramie.
- Cooled/heated seats
- Heated Steering Wheel
- Nav

You can't beat the cooled/heated seats. With remote start it warms and cools the cabin fairly quickly but the best of all is the heated steering wheel. It usually heats up before the cabin gets warm and just the feeling of the warm steering wheel will keep you warm. In this WI weather its nice to have.

My wives LOVES the heated steering wheel.
I use:
NAV a lot.
Sat radio.
Rear parking camera.
Bluetooth for the phone - sending messages, reading messages, music on the phone.
Auto climate control.
Dash is on MPG readout.

Heated steering wheel come on automatically if climate control is in auto, based on outside or inside temp. (not sure which exactly), then it gradually backs off the heat til it is off. Or you can turn steering wheel/seat heater on manually.

Damn!! Your truck is amazing.... LOVE IT!

Yeah, I think the back up camera will be huge with the little kids running around the neighborhood. I won't have to stress about backing out cause I will clearly be able to see (and hear beeps) behind me.

That is smart! Sounds like tons of real thought went into this truck. That is fantastic, can't wait!!!:roflsquared:

Looks like you just ordered a similar truck as mine! I absolutely love mine and it's the first truck I've ever owned. It can easily go to the opera house and junk yard on the same day! I know the rear heated seats were only available with the bucket seat package, which I got, but I don't remember if cooled seats come standard on Laramies or not. I hope yours has the cooled seats, because they're awesome! One feature not yet mentioned that I like is the voice to text and vice versa for text messages. Truck can also display your texts to the nav screen. Hope you got the 3.92. And yes the heated steering wheel is that good! Thank you for serving our country.

The one thing on mine that I wish I had was the tow mirrors, besides that it is pretty well loaded and love all the toys.

I call them the ass-wiping features.. and when I was truck shopping I originally thought I would do without and save some coin. After narrowing it to 2 trucks based on price, the dealer with the fully loaded truck beat the dealer with the medium level truck. And Let me tell ya, I won't buy another truck that isn't fully loaded.

Only option I don't have is NAV, which can be turned on for $700, but that's what my iPhone is for.

Not sure if it's been mentioned either, but one of my must have's when I was shopping was a sunroof. I love my sunroof.

Honestly, everything on my Longhorn is well worth it. The nav is great, the voice-to-text, Bluetooth, heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, parking sensors, backup camera, 3.92 gears, 32 gallon gas tank, etc. I haven't had a chance to use the trailer brake control yet, but it's a cheap option and I prefer the factory look over bolting something on later.

Also, the convenience package is an easy choice. $500 lets you keep the fob in your pocket to unlock the doors and tail gait, push-button start, rain sensing wipers, and auto dimming high beams. That last one is one of my favorite features of the truck.

I do wish I had the Ram boxes, but I plan on a G4 Elite cover with their storage system under the front part of the cover which should remedy storage problems.

Are the parking sensors a must have option in your opinion? I ask because I just got an email from my sales rep that says the factory have a build restriction on the parkassist option. I was pretty bummed at first, but at least it still will have the rear camera.

I had the back up sensors on my 13 Lone Star CC with the camera. My 14 Express has the 5.0 screen with just the camera and no sensors. I don't consider the sensors a must have for me only the camera. Most of the time I had the sensors turned off in my last Ram. The beeping drove me crazy.

I like the park assist. You can tell right where you at in the garage, if you need every inch of room.

I have always driven trucks, have had 3 1500 Rams now (ok 5 but 2 really do not count)my first two did not have park sense, the new one does and I love it... it helps with a bit of assurance getting in and out of tighter spaces in town.

Love my 1500. The heated steering wheel and seats are fantastic, especially with the remote start. At home, I open the garage door, I point the remote at the garage and I'm in a warm comfy truck in less than 3 minutes. At work, I point the remote start out the window (truck is in view a couple of hundred feet away) and the same deal. Priceless.
Limited Slip Differential is a must. Built in garage openers handy and well used. Running boards a must. Electric rear window and defrost. Bought an aftermarket tonneau cover which is a must in snow country and added mudflaps.

Don't think so IMO. I like the camera but I don't find the sensors offer any extra help. I've driven trucks since I had my license, I know my dimensions. Camera is nice for backing up against stuff, seeing what (or who) is behind you and hitching as well.

If you live in a snowy climate the sensors can be a nuisance, recently I was stuck in rush hour while it was snowing and snow built up on the front sensors, truck started dinging at me. Likewise I was bombing down a snow-covered highway last week and the snow whirling behind me caked onto the rear bumper.. more dinging.

They don't annoy me, but had I custom ordered my truck, I wouldn't have put them on.

Me to when parking in the garage i need all the room. When the front hits red on the sensor I know I'm good.

I like the modern technology even though I've been driving trucks since I got my license 34 years ago ,and have lived without it .

Great feedback! Thanks for the information.. I think if they have it, I'll add it.. but if its still on build restriction I'm going to press on with the build without it. I have a Jag right now and if dirt or ice get on the sensors, they don't work which is half of the time during the winter here.

I was more wanting them to give the wife that added confidence while parking and helping her keep my new truck new. LOL!!:favorites13:
