SO AS SAID THE PAINT ON MY hood has started to peal ..
My 2000 does have about 364000 miles on it butit still looks rather good for that mileage of a truck.
But last week end we'd just gone thought 2 heavy wet snow storms.
When it finally warmed up last Saturday I noticed a spot about the size of my hat.
THE NEXT DAY THE CLEAR COAT HAD Blown off.
& There is 2 more smaller places.
......... I CAN'T AFFORD TO TAKE IT INTO A SHOP & HAVE IT REPAINTED .
but I do have some of that Clear from AutomotiveTouchup.. fROM NEW ORLEANS .
should I get 4- OOOO steal wool & scuff around the edges of all the peal spots .
& Then every so lightly scuff the rest of the hood. Wash & clean & dry . then re-coat my hood with the Spray Can hood.

You can do that. Just be sure the Clear Coat is 2k. Light coat of matching paint, tack clear coat, thick clear after. Leave about 10 minutes of flash time.
Wet sand about a week later, and buff it out.

iT'S 2k .
I just like to know if my Clear will stick for many years .
I just don't want all the spots on my truck.
It won't need to be buffed . as my other paint is dull.
..............
I just don't want to have 10 inch bare spots .
