So yesterday. It was about 45* OUTSIDE. My Dodge truck is a D250 Diesel . with 365000 miles on it.
It's a really nice Pick-up yet. I bought it at 165000 mile with the Injection pump out on it .
So I had a rebuilt injection pump put on it . It has had the fuel filter changed once a year , along with it's other maintenance .. WHICH IS ABOUT ONCE EVERY 5000 MILES.
BUT WHEN IT started up yesterday I was blowing White smoke out the exhaust .. I went ahead & Drove it out my Driveway . & Turned it around at the mail box & drove it bad to the house.
I even wondered if it was going to make it back to my house .. It had no throttle response .
It did not set the check engine light .
It's had about 3 Lift Pumps put on it .. I'm sorry I don't like the new in-tank Lift pumps .. SO I just put the original style of lift pump back on the Block Side. This pump most likely has about has got 50K ON IT.
I Worked for Dodge dealership for 10 years when I bought this truck. I was a service advisor..
We worked on 100 diesel pickup a week ... So I've seen a lot of Diesels.
But it's been12+ years since I worked there. & I cant remember what We'd have called this issue.
Later that same day I came back & cranked my pick-up & it ran perfect .. No miss or no White smoke .
SO WHAT Do you think it was when my truck did this Bad smoking issue.
..... I would think an injector . But how could an injector correct itself.
