It's the gas 6.4 quad cab. The mid ship 22 gallon tank is all it came with. I looked over all my build specs and I have nothing about the fuel tank size on anything. Dealer told me to f off in a nice way. Ram customer service is laughable. Any help on this one? 22 gallon tank is a joke. My other one has a 52.

They are saying since it a single rear wheel the standard tank is 22 gallons. Makes zero sense. I fill it up every other day get 140 miles only.

Is the dealer BSing me?

22 gallon seems way wrong.

What are you looking at the build specs on? If you haven't already you can look up your build sheet here by copying/pasting the vin...the build sheet will have every detail about your truck (standard features and optional) including tank size.

22 definitely doesn't sound right, even the 1500s smallest tank is 23. I've never had an HD so I'm not sure but I thought the smaller tank on those was around 31/32 gallons and the larger is around 50 but requires the long box.

Here is where the 52 tank should be. It looks like the 22 is and on. Any idea how I go about getting ram to put the right tank on it?

According to Ram’s build a truck tool, it says 52 gallon is standard equipment with options for mid tank 22 or 52 dual tank setup….

I couldnt imagine only having a 22 gallon tank. I ordered mine, but I do remember the dealer reassuring me the 52 was standard because I asked him at least 5 times to make sure it had the 52 gallon tank. Is yours the lighter duty 3500 with a 10,000lb GVW? One of the reasons I ordered was I couldnt find the heavier GVW truck with the 6.4 on a lot, and the ones I did were the lighter duty with 30 something gallon tanks.

When I ordered the truck it doesn't come with a vin. My window sticker and initial build sheet I signed, 100 percent does not list a gas tank size.

Your second screen shot lists a 22 gallon midship fuel tank.

And under standard equipment, so surprisingly the 22 gallon tank is apparently the stock tank. Learned something new there, but yeah that's pretty small for that kind of truck.

It is a small tank, I am wondering what they mean by midship. Is their possibly a larger tank supposed to be installed once it reaches it’s destination (dealership/port of entry) I don’t know where they build these rigs.

Interesting. I figured you would have a bigger tank than that.

That was a screen shot of me putting the vin into the log in today that another poster helped with. Today was the first I saw this. Like I said it did not have a VIN. It had VON. Here is what I chose at the dealer in March. No gas tank on it.

Bottom line IMO is it should have a 52 standard and the 22 is the ADD ON.

A bit late to the party but figured I'd chime in with my 2 cents. Bought a 2016 Ram 3500 Crewcab 6.4L with the Aisin trans, 4.44 gears and a sweet Eby flatbed. Lo and behold it had the 22 gallon tank. Ram told me that any truck (cab chassis) with a aftermarket body automatically has the 52 gallon tank deleted and the optional 22 gallon installed. They didn't want to get involved with helping me add the 52 gallon tank. Long story short I bought slightly used 52 gallon tank (skid plate/mounting bolts) from a guy in NC that had to remove the 52 to mount a wrecker body. And it bolted right up. He had to revert to the 22 gallon. Had to fabricate some parts to install sending unit and plumb supply/return lines, etc. Used an Airtex pump, Goldenrod filter and Autometer fuel gauge on A pillar. So 74 gallons of fuel onboard. At least now I pass a few gas stations between stops. Been working right for years.
