Why do you say that mattman_13?

Ifs is trouble of road that I have first hand experience with. Gasser wouldn't be as bad with gearing but its such a pain doing an axle swap on the newer trucks. After owning both. I really think if you're buying a truck for jacking up the torque of the diesel and HD axles are the only way to go. I'll be back in another soon.

I have had both as well, but I think there are weekness on both. If you search diesel forums you will bet to find people with problems when they offraod. As long as the IFS axles are not way out of wack and the geometry is still about the same, they do just fine as they are still a correct in angles.

This was my F150 with 16" lift a front shot of my setup. You can see that I have almost perfectly straight axles. And I never had a problem when mudding :)

That f150 was sick. Ifs has its place and is way smoother than straight axle. But on your f150 you probably had an absolute but load in lift alone. For my purposes the straight axle is cheaper and easier to get say around 8" which is the biggest I'd wanna go. Then work on power with the diesel :) I'll probably be looking at a 5.9 cummins to reach all my previous reqs in my next truck. I say lift it and take the flogging from the wife. That's what I like about being a bachelor haha

HAHA!!! mattman_13.. You would surprised to know I paid in total for lift, rims, tires...$7500 for the whole thing. And straight axle could be a little cheaper but unless you know how to do one you will end up at a shop and they are going to charge a hefty fee, buddy got his done on his Silverado 1500 and was close to $5000 just for that then comes the tires and rims which now a days are costing as much as the lift lol

I never understood massive power when you lift it. Is it for burn outs? Wasting money that spent on the tires. Mudding? I never had problems with a little bolt ons and had well enough power, no need for 500+hp, just flings mud higher LOL

I want to be big, fast, and be able to pull a lot. Why not have it all?
I loved the look on ppls faces driving t/as and mustang gts when my old truck would leave them in black smoke haha
