Hey Ram fans,

I'm new to the Ram family, I recently just got a 2013 2wd single cab short bed with the 5.7 hemi. I've had for about a month now and I love it! I've always been a Toyota guy, but I kinda turned traitor and went with a Ram instead lol.

I've already been looking into to a few upgrades and have been on this forum looking to see what my options are. I do a lot of rock crawling so I want a reliable tow rig and an exhaust that won't blow my ear drums out while Im on the highway. I don't want anything to extreme but I still want something that'll turn heads.

I really love how the borla sounds but I was wondering if anyone has ran bassani or know someone who has...

Also, what are the best programmer for a 2013? I've heard really good things about the bully dog gt, but is a gas tuner really worth the money? I want to see dyno results before I make my decision so I can get the best bang for the buck.

Good looking truck.

I would suggest a Catch Can ASAP.

I have a magnaflow 18" and think it sounds awesome,
but not too obnoxious. :)

Great looking truck...catch can prevents blow-by oil/condensation to be routed back into your engine to be burned but instead it becomes into sludge that sticks on your throttle body and intake manifold.

There are people that make their own Catch Can, pretty simple, really.
There is a thread in the DIY section.

I installed one from Billet Technology, they are around $125.00 + shipping.
I bought mine over Labor Day on sale, got it shipped for $120.00.

This was the stuff in mine as I approached 1000mi after install:

The oil in my crankcase is nowhere near that dirty, so it is not just oil collecting in there.

Stainless works i think is the name of the company, but arh has a very good rep with the hp numbers.

You cant go wrong with a Diablo Sport Tuner. I have the trinity and I like it alot. Lots of options. If youre not into having the real-time gauges you could always go with the intune by Diablo. I hear the superchips would be a better fit for trans tuning though. Also, I went with the 14" Mufflex which is a Magnaflow muffler. I think it sounds good with the resonators and to be honest, I might take them off because it can be a little quiet IMO. I would think an 18" might be better for you since youre planning to do alot of towing. I went with an S&B Cold Air Intake because I love the looks of it and the reviews I've read are really good. Trying to get my money up right now to get the catch can and the 87mm throttle body. This will set the stage for headers later on when the wife loosens the purse strings. J/k.

Welcome and very nice truck. Right now, the only tuner available for your truck is the Bullydog GT Hemi Plus. Both Diablo and Superchips are still in the works on their 2013 tuners.

As for headers, ARH is the only company making these right now. Stainless Works is about to release some as well, but they do not have these in stock yet. They are going to be right around the same price as the ARH as well as they are also a complete stainless setup with high flow cats. The only ting I don't like about the Stainless Works kit is that they are only offered in 1 7/8" primaries which is too big IMO for a N/A truck. You really need to have boost or a bigger cam to get the full potential from the larger 1 7/8" primaries.

Catch can is a must have mod as the others have said.

Another mod to consider is a new tq converter. These trucks are weak off the line, so replacing the junk stock converter with a built 2600-3000 stall Edge converter will do wonders for your off the line performance.

Then you have your intakes and exhaust. The Vararam intake is going to show the best hp gains with S&B being a very close 2nd if you prefer the more traditional style intakes.

With the Exhaust, you cant go wrong with anything from Magnaflow. Straight through design and all stainless materials make it tough to beat for the money.

13' tuning has not released yet from DIABLO or SUPERCHIPS, so keep your eye out.

I would start out with

Intake - your choice
Ported TB - 85 or 87mm
Catch Can

knock out all 3 under the hood mods at once !
