Started cleaning the Permaseal out of the channel of the headlight bucket. What a PITA. I used a heat gun and a small needle nose plier to pull out the Permaseal. I was doing it in small sections around the headlight bucket. Have to do small sections of it, once the Permaseal cools off it is next to impossible to get it to move. Just have to take care in heating the black plastic as it softens it a lot and can make it too malleable. It took about 30 to 45 minutes to do one headlight bucket.

Will work on the other one today.
The factory OEM permaseal sucks to clean out. I opened up a aftermarket set and came out in under a min.

Going to use the retro-rubber from TRS. Got the other headlight bucket cleaned up now. Going to fit up the bezel and see where I have to trim everything now.

Trimmed the bezel. Trimmed it where it needed and some where it didn't.

Should be okay though with the satin.black on it. What say you Ram Forum.f7fd92524c80e6097be3912532a6cb91.jpg57d2af82d1cfbb43a8c8030f5a1c4d24.jpgdd708a46b25a3847839b78236a099d62.jpg

Turned out grate. It’ll look great with some paint on it.

Those led lights look like the fit great in the high beam spot.

Crazy cleaning the glue takes that much time. I bought the Morimoto Permatrator cleaner for that. Hopefully it helps. An hour a side is rough.

Oh forgot to mention. When I bought the LED hi beams. The guy recommended a high beam splitter cable to ensure they worked. They were $6 CAD.

Those Hi-Lens LEDs might as well be listed as drop in for the Ram quads. They look tight t the top, but they do not touch the reflector. They tuck nicely behind the bezel and there is no clearance issue there like I thought there would be. Really the only thing needed to be done with the high beam part of the reflector is to take the black plastic ring off that holds the OEM high beam bulb at the back of the reflector.

Hardest part of this I think right now, is where to trim the bezel to make it work. Pretty sure I'm going to buy another set of Gatling Gun 1.0's now that I have a better layout.

When I did my F-150 retrofit, I sanded enough off to make it fit and glued the shroud to the reflector with some JB weld, let them cure upside down to ensure the glue did not run onto the lens.
Not sure if people can see that far into the housing or not....

They look like garbage, mail them to me so you never have to see them again. Ill take your shame and run them on my old truck. You wouldnt want to risk the embarrassment of those on your rig.

J/K those are gonna be good!

Satin black on the bezel. I think one more coat of satin black will do it. Had a small run that needs taken care of.

I have a smoked side marker lens from Klearz that is replacing the original amber one that melted and broke off. There is a Profle amber LED bulb in there for the turn signal/running light.

Now I have to wait on the replacement Profile Hi-Lens for the other side a match up everything I did on the passenger side to drivers side bucket. cae310c3bc1d0955939ab7b45d9ba256.jpgea27183eb093695f2f4a4a4fbb46868f.jpg0fef307a075ba67ed24f9662f17a8905.jpg

Looks great. Are you not painting the chrome reflective backing?

Question on the Profile Hi-Lens. From what you've seen can these be taken apart at all? I'm curious if the trim can be painted to match? I have ordered the same lights for my build and want to try for a blacked out look.

Going to leave the reflector bowls chrome. The bezel being satin black is enough contrast for me. Plus the back of the high beam reflector bowl shows a reflection of the back of the Hi-Lens projector for a nice pattern.

I don't think the Hi-Lens can be taken apart easily. I'm not willing to try....lol.

I'm just trying to make sure o have an even layer of paint on the bezel before I put everything back together.

Cool, thanks for the reply. I'll have to take a look at the lights when I get them. My plan is to paint everything that I can. Considering painting everything in the Brilliant Black and the projector shroud in flat black for contrast.
Ideally I'd like to paint the Hi-Lens too, but we'll see how that goes. Thought maybe the front trim ring would unscrew at least?

Keep posting your progress. I'm learning lots.

If you need to see something up close or something taken apart let me know.

Also, I didn't know this either, the Hi-Lens has an internal fan inside of it, which I didn't know about until I hooked it up and checked the light output. I figured if I was running it in the high beam reflector, the heat produced won't overheat the chrome as much as it would be with it being painted black.

Ok. Glad I know this now.
I might email the company and ask if I can pull them apart and if paint would cause an issue. The guy on the phone said he had the same setup on his dodge.

Either way I think the silver looks great too.

What’s left for you on these? Got some more details?

Other than mirroring the drivers side headlight to the passenger side, not much else. I might have to strip the black off and redo it again....there's a certain spot that doesn't look right.
