Got them set up. Got the new Gatling Gun 1.0s trimmed and fitted better than the 1st set.

Was looking at some Switchback strips. There is one made by Acme Dynamo that has a sequential turn signal function that is 16 inches long that I was thinking about running along the bottom edge of the bezel. There is also Profile Pivot that is 18 inches long, which would be too long but can be run to the very edge and can be hidden at the back. The Acme is 4mm thick and 5mm wide, might be a tight fit there. Only has about 20 degrees of flex.

The Profile Pivot is on 1.6mm thick and 7mm wide and would fit there I think with no issue....just that it would be too long. Can't be trimmed.

I think the sequential turn signal/DRL would look awesome run along the bottom front edge of the bezel. But I think it being 4mm thick it won't fit. Or it would be a really tight fit.

Am I off or should I just leave well enough alone and concentrate on keeping the quads clean looking and not cluttered.

Thanks for the input and Merry Christmas.2dbb990a8f3fad69154177c85f878daa.jpg21415ab3251d18b7c6647b3fb62f8cb3.jpgbb7e52872cdbee88531137e3797560bf.jpg

I'm talking to a builder about using sequential turns for my potential build. Not sure if we would make them as main turns and put them a couple layers high or what. I too just don't want to make it look cluttered. I'd much rather go for clean than cluttered.
I like the etched lens. Does it project that etching out? Or just when it glows? I've never seen those in person before.

The etching doesn't project out so far as I know. I think if there were Demon Eyes setup it would have a nice effect.

I bought them because they were a good price from a member here and they just happened to have the etching....LOL. I actually wanted the square Mini D2S 4.0's originally, but couldn't pass these up for what they were selling for.

I've pretty much made up my mind now after looking at what's there to forego any switchback strips or anything. Keep it clean and simple.

The other thing I thought about, I might have to trim more of the bezel to compensate for vertical adjustment if needed.

Looks great so far. I really like the idea of the switch back strips. I like the fact that you wanted to keep it kind of simple though. If you do change your mind on the strip I would try to delete the original blinker so they don't clash with each other. Maybe a a small DRL in it's place. Just brainstorming out loud. Keep up the great work and keep posting your ideas.

I thought about using the Morimoto mini pods to replace the actual turn signal, but then this is my first headlight build and didn't want to get over my head either....getting the right wiring harnesses and any other odds and ends to make sure sure it all works is first priority.

Maybe down the road I will do another set...

They look like crap, box them up and mail them to me Ill dispose of them for you.

How much trimming was really needed to fit the profile hi beam in there? I was thinking if I build another set to do a matchbox projector in there instead for a high/low with led in it for instant on off. Id run a switch to keep them off on low when I dont want them on, and use them for bad weather only on low, and let high get nutty.

No trimming at all. The only thing I did was remove the black plastic ring off the back of the high beam reflector that was for the OEM bulb. No trimming on anything.

How'd you get so lucky as to not have to clearance the reflector...LOL. I wish I had a stepped drill bit to get those holes drilled to 1 3/8". Didn't think to grab one. I used a small sanding drum on a Dremel and opened them up using the back of the reflector housing to guide how far out to go. I got pretty close on both reflectors to being perfectly round.

I have a set of Matchbox 2.0's I'm going to use in my fog lights, do you want me to try to see if they will drop in to the high beam reflector?

Appreciate the video.
Nice to see how much work goes into fitting these up.

I’ll be using this once I get my parts.

Okay

Bear with me, I have the 2015+ Mopar Spec harness and splitters to make the projector function as bi-xenon. How.do I get my Hi-Lens to work when the Mini D2S is working as a high beam.

Do I need a second set of high beam splitters to get the Hi-Lens to work inconjunction? I am probably over complicating everything....

RusslRam or OnSale have a suggestion for me?

Diagram to help.....I'm a visual person.34a5d0f9f28eba554e2df31accacfee1.jpg

Connect the wires for the high beams to the ones that you have the wires that control the DS2 cutoff

Looks like I may have to get the 90 degree AMP to D2S wire. The straight one is not going to work because of the offset with the OEM cap.

What a pain in the backside.

Fitting the projectors and trimming shrouds and bezels is not bad compared to figuring out how to get these things wired....bah.

@OC455 awesome build! I'm hoping this will give me some guidance or ideas to do my own build for 3rd Gen lights. I'm definitely wanting to color match my lights, but everything else hasn't really been dialed down yet. Lol!
