Other than mirroring the drivers side headlight to the passenger side, not much else. I might have to strip the black off and redo it again....there's a certain spot that doesn't look right.

Just try wet sanding the spot that doesn't look right with 800-1000 grit and then add a couple more coats of paint. No need to start over.

I found a couple of runs in spots I didn't see. Hit everything with 320g wet sand and then 400g and then 600g. Looks much better. Going to go over it with some 800g wet sanding and then give it one more coat over. I'll get some more pics posted up later.

A couple of places where I trimmed or clearanced the bezel too much, I was able to fill in using Permatex two part black plastic epoxy. I used some wide painters tape along the edges and used the plastic epoxy to build up the edges and waited for them to dry. Shaped and sanded those areas and smoothed them out. Just as strong as could be. WOW what a learning curve.

I understand why places like Retroshop charge what they do. This is time consuming.

RusslRam and OnSale thanks for your guys input. It is appreciated.

You have a good recommendation for what to use on the inside of the lens to clean it up? I have Meguiars PlastiX cleaner for the outside. I have micro-fiber towels to wipe off fingerprints but the inside of the lens still looks dirty.

Not really. The first set I did I got a little dirty so the second set I kept it as clean as possible. Is there any way to take out the lens from the projector. If you can it makes it a little easier. I started wearing rubber gloves to keep the finger prints off.

I have access to boxes of gloves....guess I'll just get a handful and use them when I'm ready to put everything together

Okay, after several times wet sanding certain areas of the bezel to get rid of some spots that the paint "crinkled up" I finally got a good cover of black on it. [emoji41]

I bought the smoked reflector from Klearz. They have smoked, light smoked, clear and amber reflectors for our trucks...expensive, but they are quality. It snapped right in with no issues.

Received the new Hi-Lens for the other side now I can get busy and match the drivers side up to fit the projectors and be done.

I think it looks good so far. The satin black will look sweet with the brilliant black paint on my truck. I'm getting excited about it.51c16e61b2f40c90fd430c1f1cd61d28.jpg6abc5fa656fcf2d65d859904b92afce8.jpg

Looks great. The smoke reflector looks good in there, you have me second guessing the clear one I ordered.

Whats the details on the LED signal light bulb? I'm been thinking about putting in an LED bulb to color match to the Lows and Highs.

Items that I have purchased so far for my headlight build.

Here they are:

OEM Ram quad headlights purchased from firebuff17
Morimoto Mini D2S w/etched Ram's head logo purchased from WhiteNBlackRam
Profile Hi-Lens LED projector for high beams purchased from The Retrofit Source
Profile Peak 3157 LED turn signal color amber purchased from The Retrofit Source
Gatling Gun 1.0 shrouds purchased from The Retrofit Source (purchased a 2nd set as the first one I will consider a practice set :) )
Klearz smoked turn signal reflectors
RetroRubber from The Retrofit Source

Krylon Satin black spray paint as suggested by RusslRam. Works good.

Other stuff I bought. Permatex 2 part black epoxy to "fill in" parts that I clearance'd too much bezel from and a small plastic filler to make everything smooth over the black epoxy before hitting it with the satin black paint.

Other things I've bought as well. Harbor Freight table top 4x36 belt sander with 6inch disc sander(wanted one for a while, for other things I've needed done). A hand held belt sander 1x16 inch to get in tight spots. I have an old Dremel tool with small sanding drum to hit small spots. Probably could have gotten a oscillating drum sander from Harbor Freight to make life easier to shape parts of the bezels to get them clearance'd.

Will let everyone know what else I will be getting when comes time to get these in and done as far as ballasts, splitters and wiring harnesses.

I am planning on the D2S XB50 bulbs and the XB55 ballasts for the Mini D2S 4.0's. And associated wiring.

Just read all of this. Your set up looks exactly what I am looking for, except I want everything black to match the truck. That's insane. Love what you did!
How do you like the profile led turn signals? Are they still pretty bright with the reflectors painted black?

I have not gotten them hooked up yet. I've been working some pretty dumb hours and did not get time to get them out together and on the truck yet.

Thay and its freaking cold here...

Ok,
Ordered:
- Morimoto D2S XB50 bulbs 5800k
- Morimoto XB55 2.0 ballasts
- AMP to D2S straight ballast adapters
- Morimoto Mopar Spec 15+ harness
- High Beam splitter (hope I got the right one)
- Some compression C-clips
- Dielectric grease
- 4 wire seal and D2S ballast housing seals

Hopefully I won't have to switch out anything or get anything else. Anyone know what else I should get to make this work?

The Retrofit Source has 20% off orders over $300 and 15% orders under $300.

Just curious are you painting your reflector cups? Both high and low beam? Saw you painted your turn signal.

No, not going to paint the reflector bowls for the high and low beams. The reflector part for the turn signal is all a part of the bezel and it has to many complex bends on the reflector part for me to try to tape off. The high and low beam reflectors I'm going to leave chrome because I'm pretty sure the HID bulbs will produce a good amount of heat along with the Hi-Lens to.
