My profile picture says it all, I posted this on another thread, not sure where to even put it...Really disappointed in my 2018 2500 6.4L, I purchased it on March 27th. I couldn't leave the dealership with it for two days while they fixed a recall. After 1000 miles, the thing quit taking gas, had it in two different dealerships in Orlando (on vacation). First dealership changed the fuel neck, but didn't even test it, so I had to take it to a second dealership, where they had to replace the gas tank. I get horrible mileage, pulling my travel trailer 7800#, like 5.5MPG in the hills to maybe if I'm lucky 8.0 MPG. Then comes the trip to Michigan, on the way there, I get the check engine light, FCA says it is good to drive as long as the light isn't blinking. On the way home from Michigan, the truck throws a low engine oil light and as soon as I get to the side of the road, it shut down. $1000 to tow, truck, trailer and family to dealership in Ann Arbor, where they tell me the engine needs replaced. I tell them to just replace the truck and the dealership, says FCA will make us repair it anyway. Another $1000 to tow the trailer back to Pittsburgh. They ended up replacing the engine, intake, starter and radiator. I've made 31 calls to FCA over the 31 days they have had the vehicle and each time, I am polite and courteous, I am promised a call back in the next 24 hours. I've received a total of 4 calls from FCA and the only thing they are willing to offer is covering a vehicle payment and upping the warranty to 5 years, 75000 miles. This is clearly classified as a lemon in the state of Pennsylvania, but it seems like FCA wants me to retain a lawyer before they will do anything. Has anyone dealt with this before?

My Yukon can tow 8100# and from a power standpoint, it handles the trailer better than the truck with a tow rating 15000#+ (4.10 rear) ever did. The dealership sent me pictures showing the wear inside the engine. They said it looks like it could have been bad or going bad for "thousands of miles". With that said, I've been advised not to take delivery of the truck. Just looking for some advice, do you think the engine could have been bad from the start and that's why I was getting poor performance in power and MPG or is this what I should expect from a 6.4L engine?

I'm not bashing RAM here, I'd get another one if they are fair with me. If I have to lawyer up, I'm probably not going to stick with RAM.

Sorry for the long winded post, just at my wits end with FCA. Thanks in advance for the responses.

welcome and sorry you are having problems. From what I have heard, once you lawyer up don't expect any direct contact with them again. It will only be through lawyers.

Unfortunately nothing is perfect in this world and in manufacturing things go wrong. This is what the warranty is for. Now for it to take 31 days does sucks, but they are fixing it. Its not like they are denying it and blaming you for the failure.

I understand, it's mechanical, there is a failure rate. My issue is with how they are handling things from the customer service end. Anyway, I was supposed to get a call back yesterday and that didn't happen. So I wait longer...

@RamCares ? I'd think they should cove the tow and replace the engine at minimum. I'm guessing that the engine problem was a key factor in lack of power and performance. My 6.4 is a beast. I'd buy another tomorrow.

Hi SteelCtyFan,
We deeply regret to hear about your experience. Do you currently have a case opened on the Customer Care side? If not, we would be happy to get this process started for you. If you do have a case opened and are having difficulty getting in contact with your case manager, please send us a private message with your case number and we would be happy to look into this further for you!

Had a similar experience with blowing an engine on a Ram with my trailer out of state so I can relate 110%!!. Very unforunate, definitely feel your pain.. SteelCtyFan.

Assume the engine lost oil pressure and just ate itself? I couldn't get anyone to cover my tow bill either the process was ****** at best.

Hard to say if that is considered a lemon because the engine let go, will be interesting to see what FCA will do. I'm sure the carfax says engine failure at some point so that might hurt the value over time.

:welcome:to the Forum!

Also sorry to hear about the issues. I was talking with a guy at the gas station who was pulling a 26' TT with a 6.4L 4th Gen. He told me he was getting 12 mpg o_O I'm pulling a 23' TT and my '06 5.7L gets 6 - 8 mpg. I would assume that you should be getting a lot better.
