If the headlight is flickering, then it sounds like the ballast needs replacement. If the headlight is on and then goes off randomly, sounds like it's the ground wire. Make sure the wire has a clear access to metal, and nothing obscuring it. I had the problem a couple weeks ago and I had to play with the ground wire to make the light come back on and so far, that has kept it from turning off.

Here is how my grounds are set up..

I don't know if this is how yours is, you'll notice that I had to scratch the surface in order to get a solid connection to the ground. Hope this helps man, I'll check back.

yeah, see what they say. Hopefully it's just the ballasts that need to be replaced...

Can you tell me how everything is wired up? I've been thinking about this all afternoon, and what you mentioned earlier about there not being a connection to the light........really has me baffled.

Well I have your wiring all connected plus a wiring harness that todd gave me which includes a male connector to the ballast(if i use this one, the lights dont turn on) then another ground (using 2 grounds on both sides), then there is a positive wire connected to the battery. Then same thing for the drivers side. kinda hard to explain. I really want todd to look at it though and have him look at how i set it up. But i did everything he hold me...... Im just lost at this point, i hope he doesnt mind...

Here is a shot of how mine is set up, this is based off a neon but it's basically the same set up as mine.

The ground is basically what makes the connection, without that, you have no connections, as well as the positive of course. If the ground doesn't have a 100% connection to a metal then the light will not work. All power goes from the positive wire and is split via the relay harness and is sent to each ballast. Without a neutral connection (ground wire), the power will short out and the connection will not work. I'm not sure if I answered your question though, is that what you're asking?

I had to use a flathead to scratch the surface, I'm not sure that sanding it will do it. The metal needs to be exposed. But yeah, check the grounds, btw, where are your grounds set up?

If you get a chance, can you post a pic up, so I can get a better visual? My concern is if paint is covering the metal from the ground wire, making that flickering/turning off occur..

How come earlier you said it might be the truck causing it? Is it a different bulb size than pre-09 rams? My other guess is the ballasts. After that it would be the entire kit lol..

the ballast 1 plug had a separate ground wire, ballast 2 is the drivers side also with a separate ground, then i had the power wire and relay. then i have Jeremy's set up. his included the ballast and all the other goodies. its easier to see it in person.
