After driving my 2014 Ram for about 3 weeks, the radio quit one morning when backing out of the driveway. The backup camera was dead, no music, etc...just dead.
After I shifted into drive, it began working again....did it one more time but nothing for several months.
Then today, I was stopped at an intersection, and my driver door mirror popped out of place and began flopping from front to back. It had not been hit, and just started moving around with the bumps of the hiway....very annoying.
I tried moving it all the way forward and all the way back, but nothing helped, and it just seemed limp on its pivots...
Then I stopped for lunch. Got back in the truck, started it up, and saw the mirror magically pop back into place....no more issues all day.
The only think I can figure is that the computer that controls the mirror function of folding in and out got confused. Then when I re-started the truck, the computer got reset.
I did install a Volant cold air intake yesterday, and I am betting that had something to do with it. Is saw something it did no like because I moved the air intake temperature sensor.
Last year I had a 2013 Ram 3/4 ton and I switched mirrors from a 2011 dually to get the trow mirrors. I did not know that the outside temperature sensor had been moved from 2011 under the hood to the left mirror on the 2013 model. Hence, in about four days,
with no air temperature sensor, the check engine light came on, the temperature display showed MINUS 45 degrees, and it slammed into 2nd gear. I took it into the dealer and the good news was that I had to swap back the original mirrors....the bad news was that it cost me $125 for a diagnostic fee.
