I’m having a GPS Navigation problem with my 2019 Ram 1500 Longhorn with 12” screen. Just recently, without reason, my current location navigation is now off by about 50 miles. I tried battery disconnect to reset radio, did not correct the problem. I took it to the dealer today and they said they don’t work on navigation systems??? They went on to say that would be a problem with the customer’s subscription??? I tried to explain that the problem is most likely with the radio head unit or GPS module. They reluctantly took the vehicle in and said if the firmware is up to date, then there isn’t much more they can do. I was very disappointed with that outlook and keeping fingers crossed they actually diagnose the problem. Has anyone else experienced same problem or does anyone know if there is a technical service bulletin on this issue?

My 2018 did the same thing. IIRC Panasonic supplied my head unit so a call to them and they had me drive backwards in circles counter-clockwise with the door open 5x....lol. Or something like that. Didn't work. My dealer replaced my head unit under warranty.

Being you have the 12" it may be manufactured by a different company but dealer should be able to handle this type of issue.

It happened to our 2018 Grand Cherokee with the 8.4 Radio. Location was way off. I looked at the satellite reception and saw there was no communication being shown. Dealer messed with it, you know like trying to reset it, flashing it and stuff, ended up replacing the head unit. Fixed!
Sounds like you are having the same issue. Can you try a different dealership? The navigation has nothing to do with any subscriptions. It’s built in to the head unit.

I have the exact same issue on my 2019 RAM 1500 Rebel (as do others: https://www.ramforum.com/threads/gps-not-working.184715/). Called Uconnect support and they had me try a soft reset which didn't work. Brought it to the dealer who did firmware updates which also didn't work. Another tech looked at the Connectivity screen in Dealer Mode and because most of the fields were empty, said it was probably a hardware problem and the entire radio needed to be replaced (~$1500). I opened a case with RAM Customer Service to see if they'll help me out since it's just outside the warranty period.

2020 Grand Cherokee, same problem. Look at the "where am I screen" satellite details. If there are no Satelites, you need a new head unit. Mine was done under warranty but the price on the warranty claim was 1500 for a rebuilt head unit, Jeep says they have no new ones.

Here in San Diego, we never had more than 3 GPS satellites over head.
We were using GPS to mark where the Bridges were on State Highways. We had to shut down the operation for an hour each day, because there was only one satellite in the area.

I know that we were using Government Satellites, but NOKIA's Satellites & their associate partners may work the same way.

I know my current Ram Nav was way off, until i downloaded a special radio update, that had to be downloaded through the internet.

I got mine from

I had my apple maps show me hundreds of miles off location. It was driving me crazy not being able to use carplay with a correct location on apple maps. My fix was pulling out the head unit, disconnecting the "mustard" colored "GPS" cable. The stock navigation does not work but my apple maps has yet to display a wrong location since I have done this. It has been a few months now. Hope that helps end so frustrations. BTW this was a 2nd head unit with the same issue..."RAM no cares".
