I have a 2012 Ram 1500. My issue started with the vehicle staying in 4th gear. I replaced the shift solenoid under the vehicle inside of the transmission pan. The problem did not fix. Trying to learn and fix my own issues without paying for a new truck just in the repair and any local dealer or shop.

Any suggestions?

I believe 4th gear is limp mode. Most likely will need a shop to diagnose and repair. Could be electrical or mechanical.

Any codes?? Most likely the valve body normally thats the issue when they get stuck in 1 gear. Also you shoudl clean battery grounds un hook battery for 30 ish mins then try it see if it shifts.

Gotta get the codes from the trans. Your super basic code readers won't get all the codes, need a reasonably decent reader for that. From there you can diagnose what issue is forcing it into limp mode.
