Need another key

Bought the truck used in June. Came with one key. They want nearly 400 bucks for an additional KEY!! What are my options?

Normally I'd say local locksmith (I think I paid less than $80 for a 2015 Jeep) but 2018 has the secure gateway so that might not be an option anymore. Can't hurt to ask though.

I needed a 2nd key for my 2015 Jeep & the local Ace Hardware store did it with the programming for $150 which still is BS but a whole lot less than $400 worth of BS

I’ve bought mine from Keyless Joe on EBay for $49.95 each, it’ll be more for remote start type, these are OEM keys, never programmed. Don’t buy the China knockoffs from Ebay or Amazon, they’re not dependable. I used a auto locksmith that had the scanner tool to retrieve your code and then he programmed two keys for $160. The dealership is a ripoff with this IMHO. Good luck.

I bought an OE key off ebay for 25. Had local key shop program it for 30. Nick

No second key is the sign of a repo.
Go back to the seller and find out why no second key.
Quite often people that stop payments also stop giving any due care to the vehicle.

I have purchased extra keys from
IKEYLESS and from Carandtruck Remote

both were much cheaper than the dealerships

Finding a locksmith with a programmer is not difficult

Ace Hardware does not do it right now, they were told by Duracell Batteries & 2 other companies to stop until the Covid virus is handled.

I found several companies that would program the FOB & cut the blank Valet key for $90, if i had my own.

One place told me that for the same service, they charge $45
