Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded my vehicle’s multimedia head unit to a Uconnect 8.4 VP3 NA. Unfortunately, since it’s a standalone unit I installed in Iran, I don’t have an original VIN associated with it.

I’ve read that you can use a "donor VIN" from a similar Uconnect 8.4 VP3 NA-equipped Chrysler/Jeep/RAM to download the latest firmware (e.g., version 18.45.01 or newer) from the official Uconnect update site
Current version 18.43.01

I’d appreciate it very much if someone with the same hardware could either:
- Share a VIN that works for downloading the correct firmware,
- Or PM me so I can download on my own.

I fully understand the risks and I will assume any responsibility for the installation. Thank you in advance for any help!

Best regards,

The Uconnect 8.4 VP3 NA is a 4th gen radio. What year is your truck? 2009-2018 and 2019+ "Ram Classic" trucks are 4th gen. 2019+ Ram (new body style), is 5th gen.

You probably won't get any responses here, since this is the 5th gen part of the forum.

There is a long thread here, with all the info you should need. It is also the right place to ask questions, as there are some very knowledgeable members there. When you ask questions, include the year, trim level and engine of your truck. It will make it easier for folks to get you accurate information.

I could post the link to the software updates here, but you should really read through this thread first. The link is in the thread, and familiarizing yourself with the procedure would really help prevent problems. Especially since there probably aren't many Ram dealers local to you who can help sort things out should this go wrong:

So, depending on what year your truck is, the link is in this post:
