My truck is lifted with RCX 6" kit. I want to replace the rear shocks they sent with the kit. I don't like the ride they have.

I have Bilstein 5100 adjustables in the front and wouldn't mind trying them on the rear as well. However I can't seem to find a part number for my lifted truck.

I have also looked at Fox shocks and may go with them also. Does anyone have any feedback on them? Or maybe recommend another brand of shock?

The RCX shocks are junk. I had them installed on my truck for a few weeks and after pulling them off they would not even self extend they just stay wherever there left. Adding bilsteins to the rear with a lift is a major pain. But I've done my research and gathered up what's needed. It was a real pain because part numbers have changed over the last few years. What you will need is the rear shocks part # bil 33-185576 that's the 5100 shock that is for the rear, it works perfectly if you stack a rear spacer on top of your Rcx lift but will also work with just the Rcx rear lift. Now the sleeves and rubber bushings that come with the shocks WILL NOT fit our trucks. Your going to need new eyelet bushings part number 98108g. Now you can either order bilstein brand or energy suspension brand. Part number is the same for each company! I ordered mine from my local auto zone they were the cheapest and they had them there in two days. ($4.99 for a 2 pack, you will need 4 total, 2 per shock) now the metal sleeves are hard to find even online! After ALOT of research part numbers have changed blah blah blah but from my understand you need a 9/16 inside diameter sleeve. Part number bil 195452. There used to be an old bilstein part number but it changed and that's the new one from my understand BUT what was recommended to me by another forum member and what I did was just reuse the metal sleeves from my RCX shocks into the energy suspension bushings I ordered. Now after I thought about it you could probably even reuse the eyelet rubber bushings from the RCX shock. I love the difference from the RCX shocks to the bilsteins on and offroad there's a noticeable difference, loving them!

I know this is an old thread, but I wanted to give my opinion.

I have Fox 2.0 on the rear and absolutly love them. They were $114 each. I have had Bilstiens on a previous truck, and they were good, but not Fox good.

I went with ProComps Prorunners. Really happy with them. SOOOOOOO much better than the ****** RCX shocks.
