I want to get rid of the silver/gold look on the bottom of my truck was thinking about black bedliner. If anybody has any experience with this or any input of other options would be appreciated.

Try plastic dip first... See if your gonna like the look first before getting bed liner material sprayed on your truck... Plastic dip works great and can be peeled off if you don't like it...

Done it to 20+ trucks. Looks good, last long ... Well worth it but its time consuming and allot of prep.

I tried plasti dip behind the driver side rear tire. I liked the look just worried about the durability and trying to get the line right without peeling the plasti dip is a pain may do that for a temporary cheaper solution.

Line-X is pretty awesome stuff. I've had it on both my Rams and couldn't have be more pleased. It's not cheap, but it is extremely durable and will last. Plus, if you have a local Line-X dealer, it has a lifetime warranty. Cleaned out the bed this weekend and it still looks great. I've hauled furniture and lots of stuff. Never damaged a thing. More likely to damage things you are hauling. :)

Unless it's beat up, chipped, or you constantly go off road, I would leave it. Bedliner on your exterior is permanent. There's no going back. It may cheapen the look, and could hurt your resale. Just my opinion....

If you do it, go with the best product available -- with UV protection, etc. Don't go cheap.

I agree with this. ^^^

Line-X has a UV product called Xtra. I chose that option on my truck and the liner looks like the day it was installed. I think any quality bedliner would make a truck more attractive to sell.

^^ Uh... spammer? lol

On my 05 3500 CTD Dually I had Rhino on all my rocker panels, around my wheel wells all the way from front to rear. It really saved my paint, and done right, it looked good. It was also nice driving down a gravel road, and hearing gentle clunks instead of rocks pinging off metal lol.

Were you thinking of doing the entire underside of the truck as well though?

My uncle owns a body shop and has been through a few different products. He keeps going back to Line X cause its just that good. I would also consider doing the underside of the truck deadens road noise a ton.

In your opinion, what can the gold metal detectors help you? In fact, on one hand it can help you to make your road of treasure hunting more fluently and bring you more surprise. Besides on the other hand it can also help people in other fields and aspects. For example by using the gold metal detector the archologist can know the position of the metal items more clearly so that they wonn't do damaged to teh treasures when they do the digging. And in your daily life if you lost your ring and other metal items. The gold metal detectors can also help you to find it. Really useful, doesn't it?

^What he said. :)

If that's supposed to relate to bedlining your rocker panels, that's way too deep for a truck forum.

I don't doubt Line-X as a product at all, and I generally like the look on trucks with the rockers lined.

My question is what the hell do you do in the case of a minor accident on a panel that has been line-x'd? Say somebody hits you in a parking lot, and you need to have some body work done on the bed - can the Line-X be removed easily or is it very labor intensive? The permanent nature of the product has always left me with this concern...

I used 5 different bed liners previously, Line X will hold up the best and look the best for the long term. Don't use anything else for your purpose. Hope to see the finished look, I thought about doing it just to break up my solid blue. And it would match the bed because it is linex'd also. Linex can be scratched and fixed easier then paint.

I dislike bedliner anywhere other than the bed, it makes it look as though it had some cheap body work done and the owner was too cheap to try and match the paint color
