I got a 2010 with the 545rfe and am going to start modding it. im not doing any forced induction, nos, or anything internal to add power, just simply bolt on mods. but ill end up doing most of the common mods, tuner, intake, throttle body, with shorty headers probably being my "biggest" mod for now, maybe full exhaust but that wouldn't happen for awhile if at all. i will ramp on my truck from time to time and tow here and then but mostly just daily driving. but I was wondering about the 545rfe. i personally think its a fine transmission and mine is showing no issues at 85K miles but this truck is still relatively new to me. im just wondering adding all those mods will my transmission be fine? or do i need to "beef it up" a little? ive been looking into a trango shift kit and saw a very thorough video on how to install it, but will that help? and im also worried about the firmer shifts (from both shift kit and tuner) affecting daily driving ability? ive also heard about a pressure line booster or something like that, and doing a bigger fluid pan to help keep temps down. will doing those help the transmission live longer and better, while not destroying daily driving? also while im asking should this affect my transfer case (243D i believe is what it is) or front/rear axle? if im 4x4 though i wont ramp it up. ide drive normal. i know this is asking a lot but any info helps even if its just about a part or 2. and thanks in advance.

The trans is NOT bullet proof. If you add all those mod's and flog it every weekend and race from stop light to stop light you are probably, sooner or later, going to begin to have tranny issues. Some people have had problems and others have not, it really all depends on how you treat your tranny ie, shifting, downshifting, maintenance etc etc. Some people add a Sonnex to increase the line pressure and have had good results, and others say they are a waste of money. Some people have put on after market trans pans that hold more fluid and supposedly keep the fluid cooler and some people say that it is a waste of money---Kinda a crap shoot---Matt at Moe's Performance will give you the best information and give you an honest opinion about which tranny accessories will work best in your application.
