Hi All,

I am looking to add a locking diif (posi) rear or front to my rig. As I plow snow I am not at all getting good traction (with brand new aggressive tires and years of experience) this truck is just terrible in the snow. I was looking at a Yukon Gears unit for around $400. Cant decide if I would better benefit installing it in the front or rear diff, opinions please?

Thanks!

Rear. I would go with the Detroit trutrac carrier. Just personal preference.

yeap, second the Detroit TrueTrac

You say you have aggressive tires, but that doesn't mean they're any good in snow, do they have the 3 peak/snowflake rating?

Have you tried putting some weight in the rear? With all that weight up front, your rear is just floating.

Is your ram a 1500 or is it a heavy duty truck? On a 1500 DS rear is your only option.

If you have a 2500, go with an actual Detroit locker, not a limited slip True Trac. Up front go with an electrical selectable locker. That’s your best bet.
