Hello all,

I just bought a boat that has an all out towing weight of about 8500 lbs. Even though my Rebel has the air suspension and a supposedly 10,000 lb towing capacity, I think I will need to move up to a 2500. Looking at he market, I see that used retail are pretty similar for these two trucks. I know its a long shot, but maybe there is someone out there that is looking to switch back the other way?
Stats:
2020 Red Rebel
36000 miles
Air suspension

I would rather not trade it in, so hoping someone wants to go lighter?

If it's just for towing, I wouldn't get a Power Wagon. Sell your 1500 Rebel and move up to a 2500 Rebel. I'd be shocked if you found anyone to make that trade :Big Laugh:

The PW, while capable will be in about the same towing situation. I agee with the above go "standard" 2500 or rebel 2500

On paper yes they are similar, in reality it will tow hands down better. If OP doesn't plan on towing anything above 10k lbs the PW will do fine. Otherwise, upgrade once and go with a 2500 rebel so you can have the higher towing capacity in the future.

A PW is Not the right truck you need. a standard 2500 would be much better suited to the job. (former PW owner speaking from experience).

I have a 7000 pound goose neck trailer I use with my 2021 Power Wagon. I have loaded a full sized truck on the trailer weight towards the front. It didnt squat the truck that much. Breaks on the trailer dont work any more but i didnt have andy trouble stopping. I dont use it on the interstate and limited highway use mostly dirt road farm activities. The towing capacity of the power wagon is very under rated. Probably because it has been lifted its center of gravity is higher.
