Im very surprised they are selling at all! I really wanted the Hemi for myself but with the MDS and eTorque? Not a chance. Ill just end up keeping my old SVT 6.2 and rebuild it when she goes. I do like the TRX engine but the Supercharger is another weak link. Just another component that will be very pricey to replace once it gives up the ghost.

Saw this video on 2025 trucks and I believe they have spoken it like it is. Good watch.

I see it has e torque vvt mds stop start. stop start! WHY? NO ONE WANTS THAT CRAP!
Someone must want them. My dealer had five last week, now down to two.
Despite not wanting an eTorqe, I guess I'd rather have that than two turbos and direct injection.

Dusty

Someone that doesn't read all the paranoia on the Internet about E-torque. ;)

Sure, it would be better to not have it, but that would mean buying a used truck at this point. Just like start/stop, you have to get it if you want one with zero miles.

I'd still rather have e-torque than take a chance on a gen1 engine that's only been out for a year.

Haven't replied in a bit but quick update bought a 20 Laramie (hemi etorque)new right before the pandemic traded it in in 22 for a Honda CRV (got more for the Ram than I paid for it) made 1 payment on CRV traded it in for a 2020 pre-owned big horn semi no etorrque used it until March of 23 Traded it for a 2019 Laramie hemi with etourque with 11k mile was thinking of getting a new truck looked at Silverado but still liked the Ram better started researching on here about the Hurricane and came across all the problems with the etorque which definitely spooked me I hadn't had any issues with any etorques that I had and had the exhaust manifold bolts change on one previous one and just this past august had the exhaust manifolds changed under mascara warranty along with some radio touchscreen car play issues... seems split opinions on the hurricane and since I had a few hemi exhaust issues on this and previous ones and had beat up my truck cosmetically ( I am a contractor but do pay out of pocket for my vehicles -no right offs) wanted a new truck so drove truck to Florida for a vacation and then on the way back to NY stopped in North Carolina (deal was made before I left for florida)and traded it in for 2026 Laramie Hurricane (Forged Blue love the color) with 100k warranty switched luggage over and made 600 mile trip home never even test drove a hurricane locally just went by research on here
hemi definitely sounds better but hurricane drove/performed well hopefully no issues

Just FYI the Hurrican has been out since March of 2022.

They have sold fewer Wagoneers and Grand Wagoneers since inception that Ram sells 1500s in a quarter. I don't know what the take rate is in the I6 vs V8 for them, but the sample size of non-fleet owners is tiny.

That said, the issues deadlining 2025 Rams aren't engine related. Who knows what that looks like in 3-5 years, but right now it doesn't seem to matter if it's I6, V6, V8, or a kangaroo on methamphetamines with a trampoline under the hood. Atlantis is what's causing all the major concerns.

*edit* fun fact: The four letter commonly used shorthand for methamphetamines is censored here, but the full word isn't. Because reasons.

My point was the motor has been out more than a year. And that is still thousands of motors

I've been playing around on the ram website, realized you have to have a crew cab config to get the hemi as a build option. Built a crew cab express 2wd with a hemi for 48k. Seen some ads for a 26 hemi bighorn for 10-15k off

my dealer said they were not expecting to get many 5.7’s in inventory. Just not making them unless ordered by a customer. None in stock anywhere in town at this chain. A likely story because they wanted me to buy a new truck while I was there for an oil change but that was the line.
