Welcome to RamForum.

The tire size, TPMS system threshold, and a bunch of other values can be handled by Alpha OBDII software and tools. Search the forum using that search term and you'll find the threads, How To's, etc...

Don't forget the security bypass wire harness. Message @DeereGuy for one.

Hi hsters19 and welcome!

I put 37" on mine a couple of months ago and went to the dealer to recalibrate and lower the tpms.
They said that chrysler locked the computer and that was it.
They wanted to charge me 1.7 hour of labor that finished at 0.5 hour after some arguing.

Other tought:
I heard someone who went to do it for 35" on a 2018 PowerWagon and the dealer said it was not worth it. The % difference is too small.

Can other members with 35" shimme in on this?

Oh and don't forget pics!
Cheers

That's bologna. I have a 2013 PW w/35". My speedo was off by 4-5 mph. My shift points were also questionable w the 6 speed. Maybe not as much an issue w the 8 speed, but still in my opinion, with all the nannies connected electronically these days I think it is best to correct it. Plus it is good to accurately know what your MPH is! As for tools I originally used AEV which was limited in what it can do, but now I own Alpha ODB which does that and more.

It is not my 2019 but my fathers 2018.
He has 3 km/h difference at 100 km/h.
Maybe his 315/70r17 bf are small enough.

As a RAM 1500 and Dodge Challenger owner, I can tell you if you mess with the tire size, tpms, and computer on a Dodge car, you will seriously restrict (void) your new car power train warranty in a hurry. How do RAM truck dealers feel about making these changes to a brand new truck? Are RAM dealers more forgiving? Does it still depend on the dealer?

I agree with crazy jerry, gps speed indicated the 5mph difference on the freeway. I decided to try the tazer, ordered from z-automotive. I'll report back once installed. Thanks to all

Don't forget Electronic Stability Control and ABS are all linked to wheel speed. Speedo, Odo, gas mileage/range estimates. All tied to the computer knowing how fast those tires are really spinning. To me, there is no question about whether or not you should correct it. It is a matter of safety.

... and your trans will shift like complete **** until you get the electronics back into par.
shifts just fine. 6th gear is another matter since its a super overdrive and the engine just doesnt have the power to pull the gear

You must not be picky. I couldn't stand it. Would upshift too soon, took a lot to get it to downshift. I quit driving it until I got a programmer.

But yea, regardless if its reprogrammed or not, the overall higher gearing can not be hidden. Especially when combined with much heavier tires (not just taller). Some say its hardly noticeable... well Im picky, and it was blatantly obvious my tires went up in size and weight. Its not undrivable by any means, but certainly noticeable.

GPS readings are only good on a flat road. On any hilly terrain the GPS satellite doesn't take into account the road gradient (the hypotenuse of a right triangle) which will throw off the speedometer reading to the GPS speed reading. Mountainous driving also makes those GPS MPG calculations not worth reading. Going up the 6% grade on I-17 north of Phoenix , the GPS speed reading will be inaccurate by approximately 6%, and so will any MPG readings based on those GPS calculations.

On our highway speed limits changing from the OEM 285 70R17 to a 35 12.50R17 at 75 MPH will be off by approximately the 5 MPH as you stated and as per tiresize.com

Did the Tazer come in?
And how about those pic of that new PW.
I prefer one with the winch pulling the truck completely off the ground. 12k lb winch for the 6.7k truck. Is it possible?
