I am an active 69 year old retiree. Managed to get enough years in to retire as a math teacher but I have done many, many things to make a living. I am an Army Brat and proud of it. As a Brat living in Germany I worked for the exchange system as a truck driver, went to college in Munich, and traveled all over western Europe to include Yugoslavia and Greece by car.
I am the proud new owner of a Granite 2018 Ram 2500 Long Horn 4x4 crew cab 8 ft bed with Snow Chief option and duel alternators. I have been waiting over 5 years for this truck. Ordered it in late February and received it March 31, 2018.
It is the 4th new vehicle I have bought for me. The last new one for me was in 1975. It is only the second one I have ordered. 45 years ago in February I received my ordered 1973 Corvette which I still own. So, yes, I was somewhat excited.
I wanted True Blue but at the Long Horn trim and equipped the way I wanted it True Blue was not one of the five colors offered. This was contrary to the web site. The sales person searched the 48 states for any 2500s Long Horn 4x4 long beds in True Blue and found none. So we must assume none were made recently. Only two shades of white, bright red, black, and granite were offered.
Oh well, I sure like it. WOW, it is a big truck. I had been driving a Dakota long bed regular cab for the last few years. If I had gone from my 1995 Dodge 2500 van it would have been an easy transition. No problem, I have driven almost everything licensed for public highways during my 50 years of driving. I am sure I'll get used to it soon.
I only have 350 miles on it. Due to motorcycle trips I've put more miles on my two motorcycles since receiving the truck. That should change soon.
