Hey all, I'm new around here, just got my Ram recently. I love the truck and honestly couldn't be happier with it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the EPA estimated fuel economy underestimated it's performance if anything. On a recent trip I averaged more than 23mpg driving a couple hundred miles at 60-65 mph on a flat highway. Obviously it does worse at faster speeds or really hilly areas, but this efficiency was surprising to me.
One question I have is regarding the auto-stop/start system, do we have any data on how long the truck has to be stopped for there to be any benefit? I imagine that a quick stop and go where the engine shuts off for less than 5 seconds probably uses more gas than just letting it idle briefly, but I really have no clue. If I'm in an area where I expect my stops to be brief I could just keep it turned off, but generally I don't mind the feature and would tend to just leave it on of it isn't hurting anything.

I cannot comment on auto stop, not have, tyvm, and I personally have no use for it. That is my opinion. For years, in Germany in Big Cities, U were required by law to turn yer vehicle off at long lights (they even had a "blue" light" that lit reminding U to turn off motor when light was red and went off 2 seconds before light changed, so U had time to start yer vehicle. As an American, that got old, LOL. Guess we R spoiled, hee hee.
