New 2me factory aluminum wheels

Off craigslist picked up another set of wheels. This time no tires included, as I wanted. Yesterday I took the new wheels and the original wheels and tires into the nearby auto shop to have the tires transferred. $40 each, or $160 grand total. Wow! I was thinking a $100, and to reduce cost I removed the wheels and put my ATs on.

Am I out of touch, or did I over pay?





Now I get to see if I can sell the original steel wheels. I figure they are perfect for someone that HAS to drive in the winter regardless of the conditions, and will skin these with studded tires. I'm asking $160, hoping to recoup my mouting and balancing costs.

My local guy will say $100 but after weights and everything it will be close to that $160 too, with added benefit of f---ing up the paint on the wheels and not doing anything to make it right.

Seems like it's in the ballpark to me. Some of the nicer shops that do good work would be upwards of $60 per tire for proper mount and balance and some of the shady shops around here are $30 per with 100% chance of screwing it up.

Well, I finally sold the OEM steel wheels. Took a month and had to lower the price to $90. I'm just happy they are gone and no longer taking up space.
