Hi everyone, I've just added a new Ram to the herd. Time to put the 1986 4WD out to pasture.

So it's a 2008 Ram Quad Cab with a 4.7l. This isn't the little old lady story but a little old man story. It was owned by a 90 year old man and it only has 15,000 miles on it. He fell and broke his hip and the friends and relatives took him off the streets.

While the funds and wife say leave it alone...that will be hard. So I'll be hanging out here watching for some things to tweaks. Lowering is up there on the list as most things I've had or have are lowered. (I'm really more of a Ford guy, sorry) But I currently have a lowered Focus Wagon, a lowered 1984 Mustang and a lowered 1970 Cougar Convertible. Previously owned a lowered F150 Supercrew

Haven't really done the research yet for which kits. But I'm sure I'll be reading a few threads in here. I'm hopeful it will be easier than the supercrew. I did a 4/6 on the F150 and the rear you had to remove the front factory leaf spring mounts to bolt new ones on. They were riveted with big rivets with little to no access to grind them away so it was a real PITA. Plus you had to buy alignment bolts as they didn't come with them from the factory.

Maybe an aftermarket grill. It's got a cool roll up bed cover so that's all set. Not sure how much performance stuff for the 4.7, as I know its not a hemi, but maybe some things to tweaks a mile or two more MPG.....more reading.

See already spent $1000 in my head and haven't driven it 50 miles yet. :)

I spent approx $400 on mine (BellTech) and install was relatively simple. However I have a 2011 and the suspension is different. If you need any help, there are plenty of us on here that should be able to help or guide you in the right direction. Also, be sure to post pics of all your rides, we'd love to see them!

a 2/4 is a simple front spring replacement and flip kit in the rear. all you gotta do is put the axle on top of the spring and bolt it back down.

4/6 is spindle and drop spring in the front and flip kit/stock shackles in the rear.

or you can go really low and do spindle, springs, arms on the front and flip kit/drop shackles on the rear :p

my buddy had his truck at 7.5-8/10 static drop before he sold it

Well said goodby to the 1986 Dodge Truck and hello to some hundred dollar bills.

Just ordered a K&N CAI.....knew I couldn't leave it alone. So on the list now is the drop kit, exhaust and tuner.
