Not to be a smart ass but , Out of curiosity what makes the 6112 superior if valving is the same as a 5100 and the reservoir really don't do diddly for the average driver here who use their trucks for a daily driver VS Prerunner ?

IIRC the 6112 is a 60mm and the 5100 is a 46mm shock. I'm too much of noob to know the tech for how much that matters, but it is a clear difference on paper.

The 6112 doesn't have a reservoir, but is a physically larger body shock. You're thinking of the 5100 vs 5160's for the rear. The larger shock gives it more damping power and having ridden in trucks with both I would much rather have the 6112's given the choice.

If that link is correct then I have no need for the 6112 then . I have pretty well built Wranglers for the off-road stuff. I was in hopes of a better on road ride. Maybe Thursday when these 10 KO2s are gone I will have that with the existing 5100's. Ive had 5100s on a couple Wranglers and on Jeep forum a common description of the 5100s are that you can not only feel a dime if you run over it but you can tell if its heads or tails.. I was heading to custom tuned Foxes on my last Rubicon but my son took that Jeep now it lives at FT Hood, Texas

My BDS lift had replacement rear coils so I wanted to rid myself of the front OEM coils too. I'm glad I did because it rides very smooth with the 6112's and my side x side measurements are not more than 1/8" difference

JB1, do they 6112's come with aftermarket longer springs so you could lift xx amount without having to preload the factory springs ?

No you can still have new coils and 0.0” to 2.6” lift in .43” increments.

6112's have been out of stock for a while now and look to be for a few more weeks.

We have some options but if you seriously want a good ride off road and still a smooth ride on the road, ICON has the answer. Check out their kits here http://iconvehicledynamics.com/shop/424-complete-suspension-systems . If you go with a less expensive kit I recommend to add UCA's to it.

Nick@GotExhaust,

I just joined RamForum, so I’m still learning how to send messages. I’ve been looking at buying the Icon Coilover system for my 2010 Ram 1500. What would a quote be for that system? Thanks!
