Well as many of you may know, a lady wrecked into me. Her insurance gave me a Gen 5 Ram 1500 while my truck is in the shop.
Things I don't like:
Interior is bulgy... It's only got the 8.4" touch screen, but it looks funny. It's all bubbly and knobby.
The center console is nowhere near as handy as in my '17. The cup holders move forward and backwards and there is no good place for it. Either it's so far forward you can't access the handy phone holder, or it's so far back the cubby behind the cup holders gets blocked.
Key FOB. It's chunky and not for the better.
Tailgate. What's with the button to open the TG? That's un-necessary.
Rear bumper. Has a lot more plastic surrounding it than the previous Gen. Is it just me, or is every truck generation's bumpers becoming less and less metal?
Upper Console. Space for glasses, open/close rear window, and map lights. Looks large for what it offers.
Things I like
Interior lighting. It's a nice touch.
Factory LED headlights. WOW!
Processor. The Infotainment is LightSpeed faster than the one in my '17.
Switches. Tow-Haul and Traction control switches are very easy to slap and turn off. Lots of fun to drive with everything off.
No tow hooks on 4x4? In Laramie trim?
Way too much Chrome.
Ride. I'm not sure if this has air suspension or what, but MY GOD it's caddy smooth!
Auto tiling Mirrors in Reverse. I wasn't sure if I should do this to my '17 but now that I have it, I can't live without it!
Power. All factory equipment. Tires, gears, no lift. This thing Hauls a$$.
Front Grill. For how fast this truck it, the grill is not as aggressive looking as it should be. I want this thing to intimidate.
Shifter know is a huge improvement over the previous Gen 4. If feel heavy, and affirmative.
