I'm in south central BC, so see a fair bit of salt on the roads. I spray the chassis etc very regularly but the most common rust I see is the rockers and cab corners on the 4th gens. Good luck hunting.

Thanks! By spray you just mean with water, right?

Rust proofing oil (known, fluid film, corrosionfree, etc). I spray mine religiously here up in eastern ontario. I'll take some pics in the spring to see what the undercarriage looks like after 3 winters. Should be immaculate.

You can tell salt damage by simply looking at the under carriage and try to see inside the frame. Maybe get a mechanic to look at it and ensure the frame is good. Look for obvious signs of body corrosion and look if you can see patch work or work done to rockers, fenders etc.

The carpet inside may be salt stained and have sand throughout unless meticulously maintained.

Lots of people have older vehicles here and it’s not that big of a deal. It won’t last like an Arizona vehicle but unless it was completely neglected it should be decent. Check engine bay also.

A lot of places use sand especially in rural areas so salt isn’t too much of a concern but paint damage does occur from flinging sand

Tiped on ifone using Tapatalk and auto correct. Can’t you tell?
