Been lurking the forums for a while now, figured I should finally introduce my self. I drive a 2003 1500 SLT with the 4.7 with a mere 65,000 miles (picked it up for 7k) The rear has been lowered with Mcgaughys 4.5 flip kit, the springs for the 2in drop in the front are still sitting in the box, I ran out of time to do the front. Next step is to debadge it and bake the headlights (still looking for a reputable "how-to" for the 3rd gen)

Oh yeah, Im a soldier at Ft. Riley and a father of 2.

Welcome!

Ditto on the 02-05 lights. Last set I had here (OEMs) I did at 250 for 8 minutes. Popped right open. :D

Anything else I should I know? Some tut's say to put the light on a cookie sheet clear side down on top of a wet towel... What about resealing them? Same time and temp? Do I need to add any extra sealant(if so, before or after rebaking)?

Opening - I use a cookie sheet with a silicone mat on it.

My reseal technique - on any OEM set, I get rid of the old glue. I put butyl in the channel, then I run my heat gun over the "end" (the part that shoves into the fender). I smoosh the lens on there and then line it up on the front. Heat up little sections at a time, and then smoosh the lens in place. Make sure you get the clips back in place.

Here's a set I finished tonight (07-08, but same idea) - no glob of a mess on the top of the seal. Butyl kicks butt. :D
