Haha, Yea. I really thought about lowering this one (it IS a 2wd after all) But with my everyday commute, I think it'd just be annoying more than anything. I'm going with a 1.5" level when it comes time for new tires.

The waiting is killing me!:roflsquared:

What's your commute like? Mine is 18 miles each way, fairly flat, minimal dips and almost no potholes... should be good. This is my daily driver/mx hauler, but I can't help wanting to slam it.

Hi AWW....If you haul or tow heavy loads....

Hi AWW,

Welcome to RF! Enjoy your new RAM! There are a lot of great people and tons of info here.

Please take a look at the new Total Load Control™ Air Suspension Systems.

TLC's patented system solves the RAM 1500 coil spring problem – smooth everyday ride that can’t handle heavy loads. TLC adds 5,000+ pounds of lift so your truck will always be level - and TLC improves steering, handling and braking too.

TLC™ is a revolutionary patented air suspension that uses 9" Goodyear air springs - the largest on any full-size truck. TLC’s air springs operate independent of the factory suspension so they don’t interfere with the smooth factory ride. In fact, TLC can give your truck a “sportier” feel.

TLC's air springs have at least 5 times the power of "air springs" inside the coils. TLC levels heavy loads with only 20-30 psi so the air springs remain flexible compared to others that require 80-100 psi.

TLC also has a new model, DGHD-2535, for RAM 2500 and 3500 trucks (2002-2012). This unit is super tough with 1/4" steel platforms that will level the heaviest loads, trailers and boats. TLC's 9" air springs have at least 3 times the air volume of systems that use 6” air springs.

All TLC models are easy to install; fit single or dual exhaust and require no modifications. You can order with or without a Viair air compressor and gauge/switch.

Of course, TLC cannot increase GVWR or GCWR so please do NOT EXCEED the manufacturer's recommendations.

Our customers tell us - until you try TLC, you've never experienced the full power of air bags or had Total Load Control.

Shipping for the 1500 unit is free in the continental US, $40 to Canada, and $100 internationally (We ship US Post Office Priority Mail or UPS Ground). Shipping for the DGHD-2535 depends on your location as it’s a heavier unit.

We have a limited-time coupon good for $50 off any TLC purchase until June 15. Please use checkout code: RAM50OFF.

It's a short commute, but the town I live in doesn't care about a level, flat or smooth paved surface. It's horrid. bumps dips jerks and crap on the whole damned way to work.:roflsquared:

Are you sure you don't live in Kansas? :Big Laugh: Sounds like my morning commute.

Hi AWW,

Please take a look at the new Total Load Control™ Air Suspension Systems.

Hi John, thanks for the info! Looks like a fantastic product, but I'm already close to riding on bump stops with the 4" rear drop. Stock bumps had about an inch of travel before contact with the axle and didn't ride well. I cut the bumpstops down and now have enough travel to not hit them on every bump, but it's pretty tight. I plan on trimming the coils a bit more to get closer to 5-6" drop. Will these still fit? It appears the lower mounting bracket and bag might be a tad thick to fit in there comfortably.

Thanks

Oh yeah, I put my McGaughy's 2/4 Deluxe drop on over Memorial Weekend. Have that on this thread... http://www.ramforum.com/f39/12-express-rcsb-mcgaughys-2-4-deluxe-installed-17574/

Drop came out good, but not nearly low enough. I'm thinking about getting Belltech's 2/4 spring/shock drop kit, which would get approx. 4" spindle/spring up front and cutting the rears for 5-6" drop. Haven't really found any one that has done it, so could be a guinea pig. I've seen 3/5's, but no spindle/spring combos.

Also plastic-dipping the wheels and badges this weekend. I have hookup on powdercoating, but figure I try out the matte black plasti-dip before committing and it's cheap. I like the badges on the truck, but don't like chrome, so this is the easiest alternative. Debadging looks nice, but I kinda dig the huge ram shield on the back and ram 1500 on sides. :Get him!:

Got tint done Saturday and looks SOOOOO much better! Completely changed the look and attitude of the truck. 5% rear (on top of factory), 5% driver side windows, and 60% Ceramic on the windshield. I opted to do the whole windshield with light ceramic for heat blockage with no eyebrow. Had eyebrows on other cars, but didn't really like it and didn't want to cover the Ram on top of the windshield. Dark as hell inside, but stays much cooler. Think my friends are betting how long it takes to get pulled over. :Grenade:

After tint, went home and plasti-dip all the badges.

Nice! I agree with JJ, it would look sick with a set of black headlights.

WOW! I can hardly believe the difference with just a couple little things like tint and badge blackout.

Looks like a totally different truck! LOL Amazing.

I may be new as well, but, welcome (or should it be, "nice to meet ya, fellow FNG?)
