Hi all, I'm new in the forum. I have owned a Ram since 2001 when I bought my first Ram 1500 crew cab. I Traded the 01 in for a Ram 2500 Crew Cab in 2006. Just this past Saturday I traded the 06 in for an all Black 2013 RAM 2500 SLT. I test drove every major truck brand similarly powered and equipped, including Toyota and Nissan, and still went back to the RAM so I guess I am hooked. Anyways, I have loved all my Dodges and am excited to start modifying this one. I have already purchased some bling and functional items which I will get and install on Wednesday. Lux Undercover SE Tonneau, BedRug Bedliner, Steelcraft Stainless Nerf Bars, and Mopar billet Gas cover.

Next planned modifications will be a K&N Air filter/intake, possibly a Flowmaster dual exhaust system (which I had on my last RAM), and a Superchip or equivalent. Not sure about the exhaust yet though, I'm kind of digging the luxury, quiet cab ride of this truck right now.

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for the info on the test drives of other brands. The Ram is the best looking truck on the road (IMHO).

Thank you for all of the welcomes.

IMO the only truck that came close in looks and motor was the Toyota Tundra but the cockpit was way too small and cramped for my taste and it didn't feel very heavy on the road if that makes sense. Seems like it would be a good truck for someone moving from a car but not for someone buying their third large truck.

The GMC 2500 and Chevy 2500 that I drove were a little better appointed (and the cost reflected that) but I did not like how the engine and drive train felt under load. It didn't seem like there was much umph... there.

The Ford F250 drove alright but felt Too Much like a work only truck. It had lot's of bells and whistles but still wasn't what I was looking for. The interior and Exterior were too plain looking for me. It had no character

I don't have much to say about the Nissan Titan. I only drove it because I wanted to try every brand. It felt more like my '96 S10 than a big truck.

Got the Nerf bars installed today. Was supposed to get the Tonneau cover today as well but it arrived at the dealer damaged. The box looked like it got poked by something during shipping and whatever poked it hit the cover as well. I have to wait until next Tuesday to get the new one. Changed out the Gas cover to the Mopar Chrome one. It was a little bit of a PITA to install due to the secondary screws. Those were difficult to get to but it looks nice installed.

It is raining today so I'll post pictures once I get the tonneau installed.
