Is it just me, or does it seem as though the forum has a bunch of new members? I see a bunch with their first post being a question, instead of a hello/introduction etc. Do these new people just make an RF account to ask a question about specific problem with their vehicle, then just go dormant?

I’ve been thinking that same thing @BrianandChrissy
I believe that’s what’s happening. These FNG’s just use us real members for info and see ya bye.

Glad to see that I was not the only one suspecting the same. Last 60 days, seems like there has been a significant increase. I wonder if the word has gotten out. If you want a real forum, smart people, factual information then you have to go to this forum.

I just think its kinda rude to not even introduce yourself when joining, and just immediately ask questions. I truly enjoy this forum, and there are so many feeds that I've been following. Its almost like a family now. Maybe It's just that i was brought up differently, and was taught to introduce myself and make friendships before asking for help etc. Just my .02 cents i guess. I didn't wanna start any drama, was just curious as to what the rest of the forum regulars thought. :)

Yeah...there are a lot of one post wonders who sign up, ask their question and go their merry way; never to return.

I'm pretty sure you were brought up without/before social media, so all that kind of doesn't matter in a social media world. Really it doesn't matter. Let the one question wonders do their thing and disappear. It doesn't hurt anything. The problem with forums/social media is that a lot of people think they should give their opinions where ever they want and when they aren't asked for.

I very rarely look at the introductions and I didn't post mine until about a month after I joined. It is not why I joined. I joined for information, not connections. A lot of people do this and it's ok.

But I will say it is s bit annoying to see a question posted that you know had been answered several times before. I like the search function and use it regularly.

But previously discussed questions can elicit additional information and updated answers.

And new members just might have a fresh perspective on an issue.

I agree I have a hard time waiting until the next day to see what new threads have popped up. I agree it is amazing how many people ask the same ole questions without doing a search......when probably a Google search led them here to begin with. Honestly I don't remember if I properly introduced myself or not but hell I don't remember what I had for dinner last night either so my apologies just in case. If you haven't read the "Oil" thread its a bestseller!

They asked me a question and I cost them more money with my mod recommendations, hence they never return. o_O

Agreed Marine. I’m a lifer.
I don’t use FB and I’m here on the forum so much of the day my wife calls it manbook.
I help those when I can and always learn from others.

I don’t remember how I found out about the forum. After setting up my account/profile, I looked around through the posts and topics and said to myself, I’m glad I found this.

I’ve learned a lot of useful stuff here and have greatly appreciated the feedback I’ve received from everyone here. I followed the article here about swapping out the center seat for the center console and if it wasn’t for that, things could’ve gotten ugly. There are a lot of very helpful people here that won’t hesitate to lend a hand with advice or share their experience. (that’s been proven time and time again) I’m a lifer as well. I dropped out of social media a little over a year ago and now I check this forum several times a a day.

My wife asked me if there’s a Ram Forum member’s wives support group haha.

I’m pretty sure I didn’t do an introduction as far as letting everyone know I was new, I think I just posted some photos of my truck and listed the details and what mods I had done to it at that time. I might have mentioned it was my first post, but can’t be sure.

After seeing some intro posts from other new members after I had been on here a couple months, I figured I was a day late and dollar short for the proper introduction.

I like helping people. I don't care if it their first post or their 1,000,000th. I'll answer their questions to the best of my ability. I get it's annoying to see the same questions asked over and over. But we should not be rude to new members just cause they didn't properly Introduce themselves. If they don't stick around it's their loss.

I'm new. and ask questions that have probably been asked before. But there is just so much info on these trucks it gets overwhelming lol.

But I also like to contribute where possible.
