Hello everyone My wife and I just purchased a CLEAN 07 4x4 quad cab sport fully loaded and LOVE IT!

the truck has 102k and drives and smells new still. But had a question. The one thing that does not work is the remote start. I made sure all doors and hood are closed and hit the button twice but nothing happens. It looks the doors and flashes the lights but no sign of the starter engaging. Any simple checks for that before i get it looked at?

Second is there any common issues with the year/gen of truck for the most part it has great reviews and seemed very comfortable buying it. plus the orange burst is a really sexy color!!:favorites13:

Not sure about the remote start, maybe a fuse? Or an unhooked wire? Only common problem I've had on my 06 with now 107k miles was with the ecirculation door broke in hvac, removed it. If your mechanically inclined in the slightest bit I'd check some maintenance things off the bat. Clean the throttle body. Check spark plugs. Maybe pcv valve I'd throttle body is really dirty. Etc etc. Glad to hear you love it! Post some pictures when you can. Welcome aboard! :)

Thanks! I am going to check the plugs in the morning, change the diff fluids and the TB. Just need to figure out the remote start issue. Ill see if i can get a printout of the wiring diagram at work to trace some wires. I will try to get some pics soon!

Are you sure it actually has remote start? Can you post a pic of the key/fobs? Is it a factory kit or aftermarket?

The factory remote start is integrated into the can bus data system so there will be no fuse and really no seperate wiring for it. If it isn't starting then one of the items that will prevent it from starting is being triggered. Check your hood switch. Should be mounted to the passenger side fender near the airbox. If this is broken or not working correctly it will think the hood is open and prevent the remote start from working

I guess so, the bracket is there but no switch. Im gonna call the dealer and see if they have one in stock since local part stores have none in their systems. I find it weird that its gone because everything has been maintained to the maintenance records etc but this is the one thing that is missing. But i hope and pray that its the switch that is making the remote start disable itself.

The switch being gone will definitely prevent the remote start from working so as long as there arent any more issues you should be good to go

I had to replace the hood switch on my 07, I did buy straight from Mopar and never had a problem again. At one point I would drive down the road and I would get a (ding) saying hood and my hood was latched then my remote start would start acting up and I traced to the hood switch.
