I am purchasing a 1996 Ram 1500 4x4 lifted from my cousin and will be picking it up in the next few weeks.
I have owned/driven 4x4 trucks/SUVs in the past but this is my first "toy" 4x4 lifted truck.....I also own a 91 Nissan 300zx twin turbo that I have completely redone minus bottom end rebuild and new turbos
I know its a V8 but unsure if 318 or bigger v8 (not sure what was standard that year yet lol...doing more research) its lifted 6" i think but will verify 35s...headers throttle body spacers 4.56 gears full dual exhaust and a tune is what I know at the moment but going to look at it and get all specs next weekend. I know they took 1 trip in it and hauled a camper and it didnt perform as well as expected so they upgraded to a diesel for hauling which is why they are selling due to too many vehicles/toys lol
My cousin is a great mechanic and meticulous about maintenance so im not too concerned as I know all maintenance has been done but anything to look out for would be appreciated advice also
We will be just driving it occasionally and during snow here in St. Louis....Im looking to do some minor stuff to it to update/modernize the look a bit:
Projector headlights n fog lights...led tails...grill etc and maybe update the wheels/size
I will NOT be autozoning it up or rice'ing it out lol....I will be doing quality upgrades that enhance its current appearance....I am pretty solid on the exterior updates I want to do....but are there any suggestions on how best to update and modernize the interior? Seats...speedo...console etc?
