Hello All! I just picked up my new 2013 Ram Express quad cab in Mineral Grey last week.

I saw a slightly used truck at a local dealership that I wanted to buy. It was identical to the one I purchased, but had a factory 1-2" lift kit, wheels, and tires. I test drove it and fell in love with it and felt it was a fair price. I went back a day later to purchase the truck and it had already sold. Then, the salesman told me with the current incentives and rebates I could practically get a brand new one for the same price -- minus the aftermarket goodies the other truck had. After getting dicked around on trade-in and a few other issues I purchased the truck from a different dealership.

Here is what I traded in:

At any rate, I'd like to do window tint, a leveling kit, new wheels/tires, fender flares, mud flaps, Mopar nerf bars, and a bed cover. If anyone has any links for who sells these parts or are site sponsors let me know!

I've been having a hard time finding sites that sell decent parts. I would also like a flat black HEMI graphic for the back of the bed, similar to the Daytona stripe package as well as subtle fender flares. Any help finding these? I HAVE seen a picture in a site Admins signature who has the same color truck as I have. He has the look I am going for with the black wheels/tires and the flares -- I just have no idea who makes or sells the parts!

The factory rims/tires are 20s and I am wondering what size I would do for plus sizing the tires. How big can I go with a leveling kit and not having any rubbing and clearance issues?

Thanks a lot, and I look forward to hanging out on the site!

I'm also glad all the options I wanted came on this "base" truck. I didn't want leather and all the crap my previous vehicles have had. I'm glad that it's got a touch screen radio, Bluetooth for calls and streaming music, backup camera, new updated 2013 gauge cluster, etc.

My only complaint so far is how hard the door panels are. When I'm driving and resting my left arm on the door it gets rather irritating and my elbow starts to get sore. Perhaps they should soften those materials on future trucks.

I also had to make a warranty claim before I even drove off the lot. Apparently, whoever assembled this truck did a number on the radio bezzle and scratched/scuffed it up. It even looked like they may have used a small screwdriver on it at one point. The service writer took pictures and apparently sent them to Chrysler and I haven't heard anything since,... and am still waiting -- he did say it would be covered under warranty.

Anything else I may need to know?

I see a lot of people talking about catch cans. Why is this even needed? What is the benefit?

I'd also like the exhaust to have a bigger growl without being obnoxious and spending $800 for all new pipes. I was toying with the idea of just changing the mufflers and getting new Magnaflow round/tolled tips.

Thanks again!

Welcome to RF.

Go to the search bar and put in catch can. It should bring up all the info you need.

Our site sponsors are on the right side bar. You should get great service and prices from them all.

Welcome!! Nice truck!

There are tons of topics on the items you mentioned. It looks like you have the factory duel exhaust. Instead of spending 700-800 on a new cat back, you can buy a Mufflex set up that bolts right in to where the factory muffler clamps on. They are really slick an use a Magnaflow muffler. As for the catch can, it is a setup to capture all the oil that would be dumped back into to your thottle body to be burned off. After collecting it, you can dump it out when you change your oil and help prolong the life of your motor and make it run kore efficiently.

Happy modding!

Welcome!!
Truck looks great. Nice mod list so far.
If I could make a suggestion....don't get the factory mopar steps they are awful in my opinion, and very $$$$$. They are more for looks than function. I'm sure several people will disagree, but it was the first thing I got rid of.

i have no issues with my factory steps(they came with the truck) I will say i was at the deler yesterday getting an oil change and i looked at the only sport on the lot and i did not like the nerf bars on it. So i guess for the 2013's i would agree with you bailey lol

Welcome to RF. that was one nice Camaro you had! I'm thinking about doing the opposite and trade my ram in on a camaro after I get it paid off in 2 years.

Only thing is that being 6'3 I don't have much head room but my 9 year old son loves those cars, so getting anything else might not be an option!

Yes, it IS your truck! I must have details so I can get my credit card out. I was staring at your sig picture for about an hour last night and rubbing it with my mouse cursor wishing it was mine.

What would you suggest? I am looking for black accents to compliment the paint. Any graphics or "add-ons" would be black in choice. The black Mopar nerfbars seem to be around $300-ish. I didn't think that was very expensive for a large hunk of metal.

I'm 6'1" and fit just fine in the Camaro. My family loved the car -- but my wife hated it. She doesn't like yellow vehicles at all. I also had a Yellow Jacket FJ Cruiser a few years ago and she hated that vehicle too.

The only reason why I got a truck was because we bought a new house with some property and I need the truck bed for clearing debris, grass clippings, junk, and things for the house. PLUS, I've never had a fullsize truck and this is my 30th vehicle (I'm 31) -- so I have a habit of getting bored and changing vehicles.

My major concen with the Camaro is that I didn't want to drive it through the snow and in Minnesota we can get nasty winters. I didn't feel like making two car payments so something had to give and the wife wouldn't let me sell her beloved Odyssey. :rotflmao:

This is exactly what I was looking for!

For the fender flares are they held on by 3M adhesive like GM vehicles (all I'm really used to)? I also like the flares that have a similar look and appear to have been "bolted" on, without actually bolting through the factory sheet metal (if that makes sense).

Where did you get your wheels?

Last night I was browsing Rough Country and found a 2.5" level kit for under $200. Is this something that I can do myself with a friend and a case of Nordeast, or would I be paying a shop?

Does anyone know of where we can buy custom Ram head logos for the front and back of our trucks? I saw someone with a Texans logo which looked cool, but afterall, I'm a Vikings fan... ;)
