Hey guys first off I have minimal knowledge on car stereo equipment.

I bought a new jvc headunit to replace my old alpine

I have 2 kenwood amps I assume the smaller 500w for running the front and rear door speakers and a 1800w for my 2 10 inch subs.

The thing is the old alpine has front and rear inputs for the speakers and another dedicated inputs for just my subs on the back of the head unit

My new jvc only has front and rear/sub inputs.

Is there a way to rig this up or do I need to return it and get another with separate sub input??

Any help would be awesome

Thanks !

What's the model number of the JVC unit you're installing? Or can you post a picture of the back so we can see the inputs?

At work ATM but its a jvc kd-a645

It has just the front input for the red and white cable and rear/sub input for the red and white cable. No separate red white input for just the cables for my subs.

I can get a pic later tonight tho

Since you already have RCAs ran to the head unit I'm assuming, you might could just find an RCA splitter to hook into the rear/sub output. But then any fading between the front and rear would probably affect your sub volume. Another option might be to use the splitters on the front output since you could still control the fading between front and rear on the amp. Maybe somebody with more knowledge will chime in shortly with a better idea.

Hm thanks for your input man, I do have all the RCAs ran up to the headunit already from both amps, that's why I thought this would be just an easy plug and play type deal...until I realized there was no seperate pre out for my subs on the new head unit.

As for running a splitter I really don't want to risk losing out on sound quality, gunna return the jvc tonight and get a headunit with 6 RCA preouts, unless anyone else has any idea how I can hook it up without losing sound quality?

I'm not sure if there would be a loss in quality doing it that way or not. But I can certainly understand you not wanting to go that route. I would be the same way. There may be another way, but off the top of my head that's all I can think of. This was my first truck I did my own install on, so my knowledge is very limited.
