I had the Michelin LTX M&S tires on my 06 and when my tires wear out on my 2011 I will be getting those again. As far as a smooth riding tires they are hard to beats and they also help with your mileage. They have an update from the ones I had to the LTX M&S2 which suppose to be better but do a search on them.

Its hard to beat Michellen for on road manners. Most guys here (myself included) however don't find they have the look, or aggressiveness (trad deapth/etc) we'd like. To this day, my favorite tire I've had on my Rams was a Toyo Open Country AT. Excellent Road manners for an AT, good wear, and it was a lot less expensive than Michellin. I have BFG ATKOs on my truck now, and will be going back to Toyo.

Never heard of the CrossContact ones and no experience with Michelin. Are you absolutely stuck on one of those 2? What about a Cooper tire? The Discoverer AT3s were and still are a great tire for me . Not what I'd consider as "off roaders" but are somewhat aggresive looking- pretty good for an AT tire IMO. They stick to the pavement really well, great in rain and also great in snow which is a plus for those of us who actually have to deal with the snow. I run Nitto trail grapplers throughout the summer months but come winter the Coopers go back on.

What about BFG rugged terrain they have a nice highway tread. Cannot beat a Michelin for wear but BFG is made by Michelin and very close if rotated properly.
